There are so many good places in Anchorage. You barely scratched the surface.... South, Hearth Pizza, Rustic Goat, Pangea, Granny B's and Lucky Wishbone just to name a few.

Grew up in anchorage. Everytime I go back I HAVE to go to Mooses tooth.

Recently I went to wild scoops for a tour with my daughters Girl Scout troop we got to see the test kitchen where they create all the ice cream flavors and got to test the ice cream which is now my new favorite ice cream shop

Fire Island and Snow City are indeed the best breakfast spots in town. For dinner, I loved Glacier Brewhouse and Haute Quarter Grill. I've heard 49th State and Simon & Seafort are excellent choices.

I still prefer Arctic Roadrunner for the burger lunch.

Some Great choices. Personally, I like Gwennies, Bear Tooth, & Alaska Burger when I'm in Anchorage. I travel down for work on a regular basis (I live to the North in Fairbanks).

Poutine does NOT have cheddar cheese on it 🇨🇦 So, not really poutine sadly 😜

Comments from an Alaskan who has been up here over 2 decades… Spenard Roadhouse - Locals view this as mostly a work lunch location. After all, their claim to fame is frozen tater tots. That sets the bar rather low. Good for a quick lunch but that’s about it. Moose’s Tooth Pizza - The pizza selection up here is terrible. And I mean TERRIBLE. We spent most of our life near Chicago so we have a high standard for pizza. Which is why we make our pizzas at home and skip the plastic pizzas from MTP and other shops in town. Fire Island Bakery - This is probably the only bread bakery you’ll ever see that does NOT have any fresh baked bread at opening time. Yeah, go figure. Overpriced, under flavored and more for people who put image over quality. Wild Scoops Ice Cream - Excellent place for a scoop. If we’re in the area we’ll stop for a cone. Snow City Cafe - This is the “hipster” breakfast place to go in Anchorage. If you’re a born and raised Alaskan it’s probably impressive. If you’re from the lower 48 and have been to real diners, you’ll be disappointed. Sushi Ya - It’s sushi in Anchorage. So you don’t expect much. This place has had A LOT of issues with passing inspections in the past and it has “new mgmt” signs so often we can’t get past the “yuk” factor.
