We own the 17B, ordered it with the manual awning. Very happy with that choice. Much stronger than the electric, easy to clean, great in the rain, we have side curtains to hang on the horizontal bars to create a bit of a room for privacy, less wind or rain.

Super helpful demonstration, however I am going to opt for power awning. The power awning has such a clean look to it

I have had a Carefree Fiesta on a different brand trailer. At first I found the number of steps to take for deployment rather daunting;I felt like there are so many little things to remember. But after doing it 3 or 4 times it felt easier. The awning arms are sort of bothersome to navigate around when walking to or from the door area, it's easy to bump the head or run into them if not paying attention. Even so, I'll pick the manual over the electric on my upcoming 17B. The ability to dip the front part lower can be as valuable to gain more shade from whichever side the sun is on, as well as to let rainwater drain. And if I need to scrub the top surface of its grime, the manual awning comes down low where it can be seen and reached without climbing.

How do you clean off the power awning before retracting it.... say pine needles for example?

Is there a reason the 13’-5” powered awning is not available on the Escape 5.0TA? I understand the roof profile slants upward as it traverses towards the front of trailer, but as I see it, the longer powered awning would fit nicely onto the Escape 5.0TA. Also it would provide additional shade on area between entry door and front of trailer. This would be beneficial during rain event.
