On Sunday, May 21 at 5:37 p.m. ET (21:37 UTC), Falcon 9 launched Axiom Space’s Axiom Mission 2 (Ax-2) to the International Space Station from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Dragon will autonomously dock with the space station on Monday, May 22 at approximately 9:16 a.m. ET (13:16 UTC).
During their time on the orbiting laboratory, the crew will conduct over 20 science and technology experiments in areas such as human physiology, physical sciences, and STEAM to help expand knowledge to benefit life on Earth in areas such as healthcare, materials, technology development, and enable industrial advances.
The webcast will resume approximately two hours prior to docking.

@@openwrtguru247 This Dragon had less cargo in it than previous manned missions, so there was enough fuel for RTLS.
@rbrtck
@rbrtck 11 ай бұрын
@@odysseusrex5908 Not only this, the Falcon 9 has always had the "extra" performance needed for this on many/most crewed flights, but SpaceX were never sure enough on each flight, so they maintained a larger margin on crewed flights until now. With so many flights and reflights of the Falcon 9 providing data that suggests very consistent performance, however, SpaceX are now pretty confident that each first stage will have enough fuel left for the boostback for an RTLS. Note that this represents zero additional risk for the crew, and only a slight risk, if any, for the first stage. It's really just a matter of having more experience with, practical working knowledge of, and confidence in the Falcon 9 now than before. And yes, of course, this probably only works with a relatively light load on crewed flights. Including more than a certain amount of cargo mass would require a drone ship landing instead. That stands to reason.
@rbrtck
@rbrtck 11 ай бұрын
@@openwrtguru247 The Falcon 9 Block 5 itself has not changed. SpaceX have simply built up enough confidence in the Falcon 9's consistency to actually attempt such a landing on lightly-loaded crewed missions, and obviously they were right.

Absolutely stunning. The angle of the booster shows how much it was flying down range to reach the target. Proper suicidal stuff. One engine for re-entry leaving what seems like 8-900 more velocity than usual to get the range, 3 for landing. I’m sure I’ve read they tried that before but still. Wow. And the real bonus is it looks pretty clean too…

It’s a pleasure and great success , seeing Saudi Arabia and U.S working together in scientific and medical researches , and this is just the first step in this field.

@@user-mr4uo5mw9n So ... your point is what? The nationality of a group of people who did something bad means that all people of that nationality are bad? I don't know you. Don't know anything about you. But I can say this with confidence. Somewhere in history, people of your nationality have committed atrocities. But regardless, your comments here would do nothing to address the issue you cite, even if your arguments were valid. Instead, you're vocalizing in this way on an issue completely unrelated to the topic of discussion, in order to get some attention. So I ask again, do you need a hug?
