There are pewter pieces available to add more options of pieces (weapons); anti tank guns, bunkers, heavy artillery, pocket battleships, scorched earth, paratroopers, sub pens, commandos, etc. Each have there own advantages.

Pool Shark np. 1941 doesn't seem to have enough units, while both 1940 boards end up costing above a hundred dollars. But the first time you play, make sure to have your friends help you set up. Setting up by urself takes forever

Pool Shark If you want it simple or include kids or people who do not like to learn games A & A 1941. The 1942 game is in between, a full game but takes a while to play or learn (espcially if you are new to such games) 1940 is huge, not for beginners or fast games, this game 1914 is also very long (do not expect less than 6h, very liekly a lot more). I like the 1914 but it is very WW1 , slooooow.

Quinton Musclow Axis and Allies sounds cooler tho. Plus it's one game in the Axis and Allies series. That's the name of the game series. This is just one edition. I don't think he realizes making a fun game is more important than making it historically accurate cause he seems to be more upset over historical inaccuracies than he shouldd

There were no AXIS in WWI. They were called the Triple Alliance or the Central Powers. The Triple Entante was indeed referred to as the Allies.

Wizards of the Coast do give you extra chips and figures if yoiu request them. Just add some Russian units at start and/or buying power and it's on!

Peter Magro Just an update to that, they apparently stopped doing this (see www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=32125.90 Aldyn's post). Shame on them, this was the one thing that redeemed them for not providing enough units!

the triple alliance included Italy, and since Italy never joined the war until 1915 (against its triple alliance allies), it was the triple entente vs the Germans and Austrians. but Japan, Belgium and later the US joined the original Britain, France and Russia to make them the allied powers (and Russia left after the October revolution) And the Ottomans and Bulgaria joined Germany and Austria-Hungary making them the central powers. but its called axis and allies because that's the name of the board game series, axis and allies.
