I took a box class with Jason a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Of course ended up with a full set of his tools a few weeks later! The box scraper especially is amazing. Thanks for the refresher, and thanks especially for the discussion on how to sharpen these tools - I'll be able to refer back to this video in the future.

Great demo. It took me a few minutes to remember Your name, Jason. I watched your box demo at the Atlanta AAW Symposium in 2016. You mentioned your website but for folks that do not know your name, it would be good to display in the show notes.

Hello, Sorry I missed the live presentation. Is there any reason why Jason made a recess for the final jam chuck holding the base and not making a tenon. Any marks (not that Jason would leave any) would show on the base. If a tenon was used and held the base on the inside, any marks would be hidden. Not that I am an expert.....Cheers

Hi Frederick, the following reply is from Jason - "The reason that I use a recess in the jam chuck is that if you make a spigot that fits too tight inside the base of the box, then there is the risk that will split the timber along the grain. Many years ago I did this and split the base in half, so have always used the recess since. It takes a little bit of effort, but always works!"
