God! This baba had a perfect command of English language. It is very impressive and awesome that a very traditional, very talented artist of his age could have such a profound artistry of English expressions. This should be a lesson to all these Nollywood actors and actresses who can not make correct statements in English. What a wonderful man baba Ogunde was. May his soul continue to rest in peace.

Papa Ogunde only had equivalent of pry 6 education and spoke better English than most graduates today, He was a pioneer and the national theater should be named after him. I grew up in the 80s on the same street where he lived off Hughes Avenue in Alagomeji yaba. I was of course young in my teenage years and often ran behind his trucks on his way to perform. Its funny baba said there was societal decay in the 80s .he would definitely not recognize Nigeria now. Thanks for the memories

As Yoruba people we had forebearers that showed us the way, we have no reason for being lost again. Baba Ogunde's work was more powerful than thought, it wasn't just theater, it was life all together and sociopolitical philosophies. One of those most remarkable statements from him which was the Hallmark of his originality which we should all hold on to is that "My stories are for my people, my cinemas are for my people, if anyone outside wants it I can export to them" ile latin kesho rode. Rest on a legend and more.

RIP Baba. I learnt new things about my tribe ,Yoruba today. The take home for me watching this video today is ‘ if God has destined someone to be something in life, it will surely come to pass no matter the odds. A big thanks to those that put this together.

Baba's extremely good dat there's no comparisons nor a match, no doubt ppl refer to him as Alujonu eniyan: Aspecial gift from God, n ll worship him if they could discover his grave sight. Nigeria(9ja) has lost many gr8 1's dat can never b replaced. 1 thing dat baffles me tho's dat y till today some of beautiful works r not being showcased after he passed am so sure many ll pay more than double to watch his films again. I remember those days my mom goes to the National Arts Theatre Iganmu Lagos to watch Hubert Ogunde's stage plays. Chai! 9ja which way nah? All those monuments building are now things of the past that we hardly visit
