From what I understand, the Fujigen factory has a huge backlog of orders placed during the pandemic that they are slowly fulfilling. Because of that, Ibanez is not releasing any new Japanese models this year.

@@BigPhi84 is this for real? solid source? damn i was really waiting for a new AZ prestige, maybe ill wait another year or go for a AZN or a AZ premium 😭😭😭 they're gonna reveal more models at NAMM right? or are they not?

@@ramsonk I can confirm the backlog, but we're expecting a couple new Prestige models to be announced in June/July.

​@Bwucey surely there is nothing wrong...but over the years they have brought the prices so close to the prestige lines for no apparent reason while their competitors are releasing guitars with similar specs for lower price. Now its like just add some more money and buy the prestige instead of the premium models which are known for having QC issues.

@@ibinTZY They are not really close in price, but if they are closer it's because they're close in spec - practically the only difference is where it's built and a couple of small spec details like the metal on the trem perhaps. But if you want a cheaper guitar then Ibanez sell plenty of them - and if you're deluded by Harley Benton that you can get the same thing for 1/3rd price then buy one but you're just deluding yourself (and you know it) - you know Harley Benton sell things that look like guitars with zero interest in QC and the retailers that stock them have no interest in QC either, they'll ship you the box from the manufacturer. I'd suggest if you want good value, find a retailer that opens the box, sets the guitar up and see what they stock - they'll still have cheaper instruments, but you're still going to get what you pay for up to a point, but a good retailer will mean, for example, you can get a standard guitar with less chance that it's the one with loose pots, a nut that's not cut properly, wiring issues causing hum etc - but the fit and finish is still going to depend largely on how much you pay and, therefore, how much time the company spent on that fit and finish - most of which won't make a diddly squat difference to the way the guitar plays or sounds (although more attention to the body may well imply they pay attention to the neck too which you should care about - although for £200 or less if you get nickel frets many retailers will plek the guitar these days and it'll likely play as well as anything a luthier is charging you several thousand for - so long as you start with something reasonable) On the other hand if you think there's any advantage to an instrument being made in japan or the usa then you wouldn't be looking at these in the first place so their price would be immaterial. If you think it's the country that matters not the price and build quality then there's no point clicking on the video. Bottom line : you want a brilliant guitar with high specs and a flawless finish but it has to be cheap - well that doesn't exist. It's like I want a Ferrari for £200. Who wouldn't - but that is just a fantasy. Find ways of increasing your income or make do with the guitars you can afford rather than wallowing in fantasies. Then you might make your wants into a reality - and you'll realise that the price really doesn't matter. The worst that happens if this guitar is £1200 but it should be £1000 is you lose £200 - you've wasted more than that in your life - and if you played a guitar that you loved for a decade how much would you miss the £200? Not at all. Whereas if you buy a piece of junk that's cheap and it's crap, well you'll be reminded of that every time you pick it up - and you'll have to buy another one which is more than £200 - so you've lost more. This is why it sucks being poor because if you have to make purchasing decisions based on price then you're more likely to get stuff that sucks. Rather than, worst case, overpaying for good stuff. That's why people who make really high quality stuff with a consistency that their customers know if they buy it their experience will be a positive one can charge a lot of money - because their customers want a guitar or a car or whatever it is, they don't want a headache - and the money is immaterial because they understand the true value of it. That said, I'd suggest if you want value for money on a lower budget you should look at Yamaha.
