Azov brigade thwart Russian counter-attacks in the Serebryansky Forest

18 күн бұрынUkraine’s Azov assault brigade stopped a Russian counter-attack on their trenches in the Serebryansky Forest. First-person video shows Azov soldiers taking up defensive positions as the Russian move in. Once the Russians are within range, a soldier tosses a grenade and a machine gun opens fire. Some Ukrainians then move to get a better shot at Putin’s men. A fierce gun battle breaks out between the two sides. The Ukrainians use gunfire and grenades to keep the Russians pinned down and take them out. They keep moving forward to push their enemy backwards. At one point the Russians throw a grenade back, and it narrowly misses one of the Azov soldiers. Azov have now been holding the line in this forest for a year. The Russians have advanced, but have not broken through. #russia #ukraine #war

Firstly, many people are now spitting on the decisions of this parliament. Secondly, Ukraine disbanded the regiment of Aces, and people went over to the Armed Forces. Or to the Azov battalion. Most fights in Ukraine are often fought at such distances, unless the unit goes into the enemy trench. It is usually dangerous to storm trenches without back up, because of possible drone attacks and artillery strikes.

The only times I saw close counter fights in footages are when there are at least 2 squads and the goal is to ensure the enemy force does not retreat. There are also drones on overwatch.

Ukrainian FPV drones have a range of 5 km or so depending on type, so there is no need for a drone operator to be on the frontline.

@@planetmikusha5898 How does the drone operator communicate effectively with the front line troops. Up close, less than 30 seconds flight time, drop, come back and reload ammo, fly out again. Fast response time and more sorties with the same battery pack.

@@Trust_but_Verify In theory these guys already have a Mavarick (no ammo, just pure surveillance) hanging. The drone crew have direct contact with the team leader who has two different radioes - one for his team and one for command (drone). The drone crew constantly updates the team leader about whats around the next corner in a trench. The team leader then relay that information to the boys. This is how the ideal structure is when they have the resources available, but as we know that is not always the case. Drone crews are high value targets so they are not directly on the front. They are however under constant threat of counter drone and artillery. They basically live like moles a few km away from the front.

@@johan8969 They'd need to come up with front line troops carrying a drone that can communicate with overhead drone and deliver ordnance to assigned destination. Front line troop would just release this aerial arsenal to do its thing, then comes back after dropping off bomb. (or a simple program to put in coordinate to the drone to go to).

@@Trust_but_Verify With the range and speed of a Ukraine's kamikaze drones (they can catch cars and motorcycles) and the ability to see real time video feeds from recon drones, drone operators do not need to be on the frontlines, plus they are high value targets for the Russians.
