Awesome National Monument with a large Aztec ruin site that you can explore inside.
Spring Break 2024 road trip to eclipse totality in Texas!
March 30th, our day 1 of 11, led us through Southern Utah, the 4 corners, and finally into New Mexico. We made it Aztec Ruins National Monument just before closing time. Glad we did not miss out on seeing this place. The ruin site was large and well maintained. You could even go inside a reconstructed Kiva and also explore the many rooms within the site. We hit the jackpot again for no crowds on this stop. It was amazing!!
Enjoy!

Thanks Dan. This was a really neat ruin site. We were amazed that we could explore through the ruins. Usually they keep them roped off. The ruins we saw the next day at Chaco Canyon were even more massive. They constructed these well to last for centuries. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

Oh wow - that was stunning!!. Huge site, so much to see. But it was the Kiva that got to me - like something out of a movie, an Indiana Jones set. Just incredible that all this culture got lost in the end, apart from these historic sites. Amazing place to visit Steve and Kristy!!

Great shot of all the rooms lined up and the doorways- cool! It’s such a well preserved site! Love to see the wood elements with the stone. Really nice visitor center too. Great stop and video! 👌🙌🙌

Watching while on the road. I like ruins and think it’s cool you can go in this stuff, but the whole Aztec history really isn’t my thing. Now Jessie might like it. He loves history. He would probably really enjoy this. Wow! There really is a bunch to explore here. Pretty impressive. I think I probably would enjoy this since it’s self guided and you can go through it all. Really great video.

Thanks Felix. Hopefully you are on the road doing something more fun than looking at ruins then. LOL. We enjoyed checking this place out. Plus it is one more destination we can check off our list of National Parks/Monuments. As a goal, we are trying to see as many as we can. It was pretty fun to be able to go inside the ancient ruins. I think you and Jessie would actually like exploring these especially with the self guided option. Take care and have fun on your trip.
