A pleasure to watch you work as always, sir. I love the banter & the Elton John puns. I also really appreciate your ability to be informative, interesting & entertaining. You've certainly helped improve my model building, the Tulip fabric paint has been a godsend when it comes to light blocking. I found when I tested my 1:18 scale X-wing engine lights after sanding & repainting the engine nozzles that I was getting some major light leakage through the plastic & paint but the Tulip paint fixed that right up. I've also taken to giving my photoetch parts a layer of Vallejo gloss varnish to improve the decal positioning which, despite being very high quality, were giving me an absolute migrane! I spent 45mins wrestling with one of them only to completely destroy it with microsol! I'm very new to all this & shaking hands do not, a competent model builder, make. So thank you again & keep up the excellent work, it's greatly appreciated.

i'd love to see you build one of those life sized R2D2 replicas. i was 6 when Star Wars came out & was always trying to build an R2D2 out of Lego...so it's incredible to me to see the amazing R2 units people have made. u are such a great builder i'm sure you would treat R2 with the love & respect the little droid deserves

I've had my friend scan and print back-up decal sheets for my older kits, then expand the size of shapes slightly then let the cutter plotter do it's magic waa laa.

What I've always found to be most troubling about these smaller shuttles is the lack of a head for the crew. Personally, I would need to bring an empty gallon jug for extended excursions.

Wow! Not familiar with the Flyer, but it looks very big for a 1:72 kit. Just saw you show the figures and it looks more like 1:48. Not trying to be a jerk, just that I build exclusively 1/72, and this thing is gigantic.

On the fit of that insert piece you printed... depends on whether YOUR 3d printer is calibrater exactly the same as the one that printed the flyer overall.

I thought I saw that on one of the episodes...maybe that's a way to divert the eye if you didn't have the replacement part? Just thinking out loud...

I was never a fan of the Flyer but that's an excellent faithful build as far as I can tell. It has to just be the camera making the light in the Engineering alcove and the "back room" look too bright. I was wondering if you could get away with using white LEDs to light the engines and use spill light from them for the side consoles, but as usual You'll want to be able to light the engines independently of the interior, right?

Hi Lou. It was great to watch this video. You seem so much happier and really enjoying yourself compared to the trials of the 'E'. One query - the box art states that it is a resin kit but obviously you stated a number of times that this is a first generation 3D print. Is this a prototype/test shot of a final resin kit or is the box art wrong?

Indeed-- a huge shift of gears! But, the grinding not withstanding, an excellent model. What a brave new world of model making, eh? If the controls had been done in clear, lighting would have been easier-- well not "easy" exactly -- but do-able. Funny detail-- that pilot needs to be a young person-- how do you stand up to move to the rear?' Do all the deals! Sure-- the lighting is about the same. All good.

Hi Lou, couldn't you just print out a negative black vinyl mask to use under the console for light blocking? Or is it not thick enough

They used valuable resources to build a new shuttle, and never used the one under the saucer section.
