This may be the most stunning B-1 Lancer video ever.
Video includes: B-1 bombers taxiing, takeoff, aerial refueling, bomb drop training, and landing.
A marvel of high-tech engineering, the Rockwell B-1B Lancer is a supersonic variable-sweep wing, heavy bomber used by the United States Air Force. The four-engine supersonic jet was originally designed for nuclear capabilities but later switched to an exclusively conventional combat role.
Factual, impartial and current. AiirSource Military brings you the latest defense news from the United States Armed Forces.

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful and awesome planes ever! I saw one do a fly by at an airshow in Oshkosh WI. Flying over runway at about 500 ft, it suddenly went almost straight up until it disappeared from sight! That is incredible for a fighter plane, but a bomber doing it was nearly beyond belief!! Makes you proud to be an American.

My father was one of the designers of this plane with Rockwell out of Pico Rivera. Rather than stealth, it was designed to hug the contours of the earth at supersonic speeds. The new B-21 bomber is taking some lessons from this.

@@dingdong475 Why is it so hard to believe. My father was a project engineer for Rockwell in Palmdale. Before that he worked on the F5/T38 for Northrop. You see one of those flying and there's a high probability he put the ass end on it. He was a manager on the L1011 for Lockheed and as a teen I got to participate in an FAA certification for carrying more passengers. For Boeing he was a tooling engineer and designed a clip to hold the ceiling panels in on the early 747s. I worked the better part of 17 years on USAF Plant 42 and watched at least 50 B1Bs take their maiden flight. You sound like a jealous bitch.

What a beautiful bird that B-1 is, just a sleek, incredible flying machine!! As a long-time GA pilot, sometimes I look back and think, if I had it all to do over again, I would have joined the military so I could fly some of those magnificent birds! The young, with their fast reactions and physically able bodies are a natural pick for those aircraft that fly high and nearly 1,000 mph and the missions they are made for, all I can do now is watch them, marvel at them, and thank all who have a part in keeping them in the air, for their service in protecting and defending our Country! I've loved the swept-wing design since I admired, fell in love, and flew in the Concorde in about 1984 or so. The "Bone" as they lovingly call the Lancer, is about as sexy as a bomber can be! Happy Landings!

I'm in Oklahoma now, and have worked on several construction projects on Tinker, and also the Quad Graphics complex. I spent a good portion of my working life at USAF Plant 42 in Palmdale California where they did final assembly on the B1. I watched ship 95 do 2 barrel rolls at around 500 feet above the deck between two of the buildings. Pops was a project manager for Rockwell for much of the B1 production. Had several of the mucky mucks as well as those from Northrop and Lockheed over to the house many times. The test pilots loved it, said it flies like a fighter. I've watched it fly so much I find it a bit boring really. I was also privileged to watch the SR71 fly more than I think any man has a right to. I was never bored watching it LoL.

By God that's a beautiful airplane. We should have built a lot more of them with F-119 or F-135 engines to restore its Mach-2 cruising capability in order to get munitions on sight twice as fast.

It still manages to surprise me how big these things are, when you get a guy beside it and he's less than half the height of the landing gear, damn.

Actually they are both "She's" so it would never happen. But an A-1111 Aardvark snuck onto their flightline one dark night and their love child was a B2 spirit which about tore the lancer apart because those babies always come out breached.

First time I ever went to an air show and I seen one of these planes I couldn't believe how massive they were. And absolutely unbelievably loud they were when they took off

I'm in Abilene TX right now and watch two of these take off from Dyess AFB a few hours earlier. One thing that you don't realize until you see one in person is how freaking huge these beautiful beast are.

At 4:27 upon landing, you can see the way the hot desert air moves off of the wing tips and along the underside of the wings. Pretty cool stuff that most of us don't get to witness too often.

Stunning footages of the sexy sleek B1-B takeoff, long zoom view, night shot and in the air! Awesome filming work! The B1-B looks like a kind of killing insect from the long zoom angle. What camera you're using?

Was Eastbound on I-10 just into Florida, driving semi, Saw one of these land at Pensacola. It was pointed south 10 miles away and even from that distance, it was wider than an 8 lane highway and median. These puppies are Monsters. Glad it's ours.
