@@bboyscam9727 nah, it'll forever be rooted as one of the foundational elements of hip-hop. A form of expression through DANCE. Sure, the Olympics will likely be more streamlined because it can't really hand out medals based on "art" alone. Judging will need a methodical approach to scoring. But I am afraid the organic nature of those battles will not be as present as ones you would see in jams like the video we are commenting on...where judges will point left or right for who they think the winners are. Not gonna see any "power-9.5, execution-8, difficulty-7" etc type of scoring in jams. Olympics, probably so. So yeah, that's a sport over there. Jams will still be alive and hip-hop in its pure form of dance will remain.

Yeah, B-Boys should all take note from HiJack and a few others. They don't have to look like clowns, but there should be unique flare to each of them reflecting their own style. Just because breaking originated on the streets of New York should not mean that the dancers have to wear grungy street clothes. Of course, if I were HiJack, I'd hope that nobody else wakes up to the fact that the right wardrobe does a lot to help "sell" your rhythm and your moves + it makes you stand out in the crowd.

Yep, Hijack's flava was his musicality and style, but actual floor work, he did crash a few times through this event, especially the last round in this battle. To think, he will represent USA - respect to him, but I've seen the other Cyphers and the competition is strong.

@@kriskainalu7202 I hear you, but you need to watch the other Cyphers from the other nations. They were sharp, clean and the footwork was strong throughout their events and rounds. I wish Hijack all the best. I agree, footwork is power, but he'll need more than that in the finals. Trust me, I like Hijacks style, but he wasn't as sharp as usual in this event.

I would too, he had that all day in my book but I'm just an old bboy, never pro, so I don't know what the judges use to score it up these days. Could someone help me out (& for anyone else not familiar) by explaining how they score it up? Like I see hi-jacks style was nice but I felt Mace was much cleaner & owned the floor. Was mace relying too much on power moves, too repetitive, not showing enough other?
