The fact that you can't get a rebate for retrofitting an already made truck but are forced to create a whole new truck tells me this whole thing is not about the environment. If a truck is already built you dont use as much fossil fuel or materials. which has to be better for the environment. I'm so glad these great guys at Edison motors came forward.

Just some good BC boys looking to make life easier for people who use trucks every day, that's all. Since Canada still has unbelievable amounts of Crown land that is not being utilized, why doesn't the public have access to it? If anyone is interested in a piece of vacant Crown land, it should be put up for public auction. When more land is made available, there will be be far fewer speculators driving the prices out of reach.

This is why I have little faith in the overall carbon reduction movement. The private sector can create excellent solutions, but usually ends up regulated out of the market, or undermined by subsidies granted to preferred companies and methods of a select list of operators. Most of us would embrace the automotive evolution to cleaner engines if it didn't involve highly expensive purchases, and always online sensor filled vehicles relaying our data to unknown entities. Let me retrofit my 1999 Corolla for a reasonable price and subsidy, and perhaps the future wouldn't seem so bleak. An EV is not a reasonable expense for many struggling Canadians. Adding more debt to a nation overwhelmed by rising costs and inflation is foolish.

I would use the tri state area centred on Spokane but having idaho and montana as a back door with Canada as a deep ally

How about this? Plow through all the madness by staying in Canada and when it comes time to open another manufacturing facility when Edison Motors takes off, open it here in Abilene, TX. We're centrally located and very nice to manufacturing. I love your get the job done yourself attitude and been a fan of yours since the beginning of the year. Also, I'm just a regular citizen with a regular job without any ties to the government here.

He just needs to hold on for ~2 more years until a new government can get elected; one more business-friendly and less WEF socialist. I hope Edison Motors scales-down their operations for passenger vehicles someday SOON. Many of us would love to retrofit their cars.

The NDP provincial government has always been for taxing small business and making their lives as miserable as possible. Now for pro union firms they get handed a large share of any government funded work and small or private firms are shut out. Small business employees around 43% of workers in the province and are treated like a tax funding base for all of the NDP’s ridiculous policies that drag the economy down further yet. BC stands for Bring Cash after all.

Why not keep the HQ in BC and get mass production down south? There will always be demand in both places.

Way to go Edison. Conversely, Canada's lack of productivity is exemplified by the attitude of the local government.
