Lol my family made this for Christmas cookie plates, I remember feeding this to my in-laws and didn't tell them what "the secret ingredient" was until they were like "ooooo this is the best fudge I've ever had". Needless to say they were very surprised that it was Velveeta 😂

I’ve seen this before. I don’t know where, but I’m not exactly surprised by how good it is. Velveeta is essentially a salty margarine with a cheesy zest to it. Honestly cheese and chocolate go really well together. Yes I’m from Wisconsin.

@@AskAgainL8ter Mildred wanted fudge, realized she’s from the generation that had the good drugs legal, harnessed that raw primordial energy from that to realize that she’s American and that velveta is also called American cheese aka government cheese and that such a eldritch item has the emulsifiers in it needed to do just about anything, threw in butter, coco etc and boom you have this. Honestly Iam kinda sad folk don’t do more stuff like this anymore. (On a real note 30 bucks says she got it from one of those old product sponsored cook books, realized it does not suck and is pretty easy unlike 60-70% of the recipes in those things and passed it along)

Circa 2000, I made a 3lb batch for the neighborhood. My two oldest kids came in and ate an entire pound of it, declaring it the best ever! Found out it had Velveeta (screaming and horrified) and I've been hearing about it for 22 years! He just sent me this 😆

hello, cook with an explanation here. the cheese is acting as the fat content (normally it’s cocoa butter), which gives chocolate it’s gloss and texture. using velveeta was also a smart choice. it has a very mild flavor that could easily be overshadowed by cocoa and contains enough whey protein, oil, and sodium alginate (a gelling/stabilizing agent) to set the fudge to proper consistency. pretty brilliant recipe.

My mom worked in a cheese factory. Velveeta is what they called "floor" cheese. Because under the conveyor belts were boxes at quality check points where scrap cheese was thrown. All that scrap cheese is melted together and filled with a singular flavor and additives to make Velveeta.

There is no need to worry about things like that with hotdogs it's all large myths and statistics. My family loves Dylan. My daughter showed me one of his recipes & asked if we could make it. We make at least one recipe per week ( that Dylan deems edible at the end).
