In this episode . . .I decided just to have a chat about some of the issues I have had employing male disability support workers . . .
If you have any suggestions or have had similar experiences, please let me know.
I would love to hear from you!
Thankyou for subscribing to my channel.

can you please video putting the cat litter box together!! loved this video and you should say it how it is no one knows what you are going through but you, i can't believe a company kept an employee on when they knew he/she drank on the job that is a massive DISSMISSAL it should be but i know a few companies that would overlook this and i know you love the NDIS but it really has made it that they do employee staff with no training and all they think about is how much they can save

Its good to hear about the pitfalls of it all. I think a balance of upbeat vlogs and real issues would be good. I know from living with MS and multiple other health issues that even the most seemingly charmed life also has its very bad moments/days. "Just do you" #badclichequotes lol ~Angela

Hi Nina, I have watched you from the beginning. I love your upbeat videos where you go for a ride along the beaches and show us the waves. You fully show the messy part of MS and what we go through. You live in a beautiful area. Your rides with Rob are interesting, both in wheelchairs and in the car. I must admit that I started to feel that life could not always be so upbeat for you because that's just not real. Then you started to have other health issues and were tired all the time and walking was difficult. That is the sad part of MS, the reality. You spoke of support workers and their companies only seeing dollar signs. That is so true. I believe the disability driver/support worker you had may have been bullied within his work place because of the work you gave him. There was one instance were you had booked a disability cab and someone turned up but you sent them away because you were waiting for your fav guy to turn up. Which he did? Same company maybe? I know it's not right and you should be able to hire who the hell you want but it wouldn't be seen that way. They saw favouritism and dollars going to him. Now we also have scamming within the NDIS with people stealing from clients accounts. I loved this discussion and would like to see more of them interspersed with the good stuff. :)

So far, I have not had as you say, a support worker. Here in America I have heard of what you say as well as workers stealing credit cards, physically harming people, sexually assaulting them, etc. I believe it is hard to find someone who is sincerely dedicated, but there are some good ones. So try not to despair.

Hi Wheely, just found yr videos. Really enjoyed it lol. Yr funny as... But yeah it's good to know the pitfalls so that we can be informed and empowered. Nothing wrong with the dirt if it helps u to avoids pitfalls and to be more mentally prepared that not everyone is nice and moral and decent. And if u come across it don't put up with it cos u do pay a price for that abuse at u. Don't have them back and report it and keep a diary of any abuses by carers, including names, dates, times, and destination outings ect. There r governing bodies that listen to complaints like yrs independant of the agency. I'm in Victoria too and there r disability health commissioners and also commissioners for elderly abuse and mentally ill abuse commissioners.

Thanks Nina. Yes, the lesson here is to have safe good boundaries and don't settle for sht!! You r worth the best care. Demand it and get rid of the low llife that don't deserve yr employment or company! Go Girl! XX
