www.vladtv.com - B.G. Knocc Out spoke to VladTV about his time at Ruthless Records, including the day that Eazy-E fired Jerry Heller, and Eazy's wife Tomica's involvement with the label.
When it came to Jerry, B.G. told us that there came a point when Eazy-E no longer trusted his business partner after financial records were pointed out by some men from the Nation of Islam. The West Coast emcee explained that after the visit from the men, Eazy "started looking at the books a little closer," and it wasn't long before Jerry was fired.
During the conversation the "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" rapper also spoke about DJ Yella being the only N.W.A. member to attend Eazy's funeral. B.G. Knocc Out told us that he thinks the other members felt a certain type of way about Eazy's death, and he remembered MC Ren possibly having issues with the "We Want Eazy" emcee after pointing out that Ren was never around.
Check out more of what he had to say in the above clip, including how he never saw Eazy's wife Tomica at Ruthless until after the rapper's death.

It always bugged me about Ren for the longest. No matter what was going on with him and Eazy how you not gonna go to your big homie's funeral? Eazy took Ren under his wing and bought him into the NWA mix. If Ren died instead, Eazy would've been at his funeral for sure. Of all the NWA members I would've expected Ren to go cuz him and Eazy have a deeper history way before NWA. That's why I got nothing but love for Yella. He stayed down till the end. That's loyalty.
@MrWARBUCKS24
@MrWARBUCKS24 8 жыл бұрын
Ren said he didn't wanna see him like that also Ren had joined the NOI around that time so that could be the reason he wasn't hanging at Ruthless he was on some spiritual shit
@RuthIessVillain
@RuthIessVillain 8 жыл бұрын
MrWARBUCKS24 yeah I know about that Nation of Islam stuff. They didn't speak for a while then they got together early '95 and recorded "Tha Muthaphukkin Real" with Yella not long before Eazy passed so I know they buried the hatchet but I still don't understand why he didn't go to E's funeral. DJ Train who was a mutual friend of Ren and Eazy's died in '94 and they both went to his funeral so I would've thought Ren would show the same respect to Eazy and go to his funeral

I think Cube sent the Nation to talk with Eazy about who Heller REALLY was working for. When the Nation left after speaking with Eazy, Eazy checked his record books and found out Heller was taking some money and sending it to a group who control most of the entertainment industry. I don't think Heller killed Eazy or set him up. I think it was this group who was puppeteering Heller. The one's puppeteering Heller run most of the entertainment industry. When Eazy fired Heller, that cut off the financial link between Eazy's record label and these people. And there was no way these people were gonna let Eazy keep profiting from Ruthless without them.

People forget about Ren's contribution to NWA, like he DIDN'T stay. Like he wasn't all over Straight Outta Compton (Album), Niggaz4Life, NWA and the Posse, like he wasn't on Eazy's last album while Cube and Dre weren't. You could've called "Tha muthaphukkin real" a NWA song. It wasn't but considering it was E, Ren and Yella being Yella, that was NWA really since Cube's reinsertion wasn't official and the Dre reinsertion talks weren't that deep yet. The movie fucked him and yella over, and Arabian Prince. Who is it THE BLACK NIGGA THAT THEY CALL REN, Ruthless Villain.

Ren is a piece of shit. He only stayed at Ruthless because he was under contract. During the Ruthless/Death Row beef Ren was hanging with Snoop and them behind the scenes. Ren said that in an interview. Eazy basically didn't support Ren because Ren refused to diss Dre. Ren claimed to be a villain but he was really a softy

When Eazy and cube met in NY. Cube told Eazy the business and that eazy was getting extorted by Jerry. Eazy came back, fired Jerry after the NOI who was affiliated by cube explained to Eazy that he was being taken advantage of financially. Jerry persuaded Tomica to marry Eazy on his deathbed. Eazy was not fully aware of what was being taken away. Jerry then sues Tomica for 12 million for his interest in Ruthless Records.

This really bugs me out. I thought Ren and E was homies. Not being able to take it ain't a good excuse. Funerals are hard for everyone, but if you homies, you gotta be there. Even if you were mad at each other, you still gotta be there for when you were homies. That's messed up. This the reason why you should never idolize the man behind the artist. Be there for the art, don't be admiring the person behind unless you really know they good people, which is hard to know if you're just an admirer.

Do you know how the music industry is? Artist that always slaves to the label unless you are independent so cube was still a slave but with a bit more money because he was going solo that means he doesn’t have to share. So it was greed
@grimmreaper5718
@grimmreaper5718 2 жыл бұрын
@@4LP3E I know exactly how the music industry works and no it wasn’t about greed it was about getting what’s rightfully deserve. It wasn’t about the music industry. Decade later Jerry Heller himself said he screwed the members look it up! If anyone should be accused of greed it should have been Jerry Heller. Dre and all the other members said Cube did the right thing. That’s why they eventually jumped shipped. When cube left he did get a record contract but under the terms his attorney (which Jerry didn’t want the members having) and the record company. Plus he started his own company too immediately after leaving. Stop with the bs, that’s why many artist are either going independent or now signing distribution deals. Ask Solja Boy, worth millions. Prince, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles and many others warned black artist. When you wise up and take ownership they want to kill you. Have some audacity trying to debate with me on music industry. What crack are you smoking??? Go ahead and sign your 360 deal slave!
