The talent in this group of musicians from Nashville is the absolute best that you will ever hear. It doesn't get any better than this.

Saw them tonight (July 11th 2023) in Iowa City (bless them for coming to such an obscure venue). The line-up was: Béla Fleck, Michael Cleveland, Sierra Hull, Justin Moses, Mark Schatz, & Bryan Sutton. One of the brightest evenings I've had in years. I was just blown away. Sierra Hull was sublime. Works so well with Bela Fleck. That was the highlight of the show for me ~ they were bouncing off of each other briliantly. Bryan Sutton was superb as well. I'm guessing that bigger venues will bring in additional stars, but I'm just honored to have seen them all play in such a small venue. They may not view it as one of their best night's out during this tour, but it was hypnotic for me! Volume was a wee bit too muted due to the venue probably (the Englert is not what you call a happening place, nor is Iowa City anymore). But it was perhaps the last chance I'll get to see these great players. Great show. I'm still up at 3am buzzing from it. Now I'm going to enjoy this one. Great upload. May Bluegrass continue to thrive as Tony Rice said that it must at his belated induction to the Bluegrass Hall Of Fame. ♥

@@larryrulz5 The sound is good enough to burn on to a CD and play in a car. Of course I own the double album CD... but there are a few numbers here that are not on the double album. For example, Big Country is something one needs to hear with the windows rolled down while slowly descending the Blue Ridge mountains on a sunny summer day!

SO thankful I got to see this band last summer. Almost all my most beloved musicians all playing together- and from the 2nd row in The Pit at Wolf Trap. Heaven for this veteran NGR fanatic.

I'm glad that Béla is taking another deep-dive into bluegrass for two reasons: 1. it produces some really great music when he does that! 2. it always launches him into something really weird and inventive afterward! This concert is awesome (as always) - but his solos make it seem like he's starting to get a little itchy after spending a year plus staying within the confines of bluegrass. Is something really weird, exciting and unheard of on the way next for Béla? I sure hope so!

Bluegrass always leads to good weirdness historically, just look at Jerry and early Dead shows.

OF THE 21 TUNES PLAYED HERE TRY TO HUM ANY OF THEM A DAY LATER . I BET YOU CANT , THE 3 TRADITIONAL BLUEGRASS TUNES ARE THE EXCEPTIONS , POLKA ON THE BANJO... , , , DARK AS THE NIGHT... , AND TENNESSEE , THEY ALL HAVE A DISTINCT MELODY AND NONE OF THE OTHER 18 DO . TOO BAD AS THEY ARE ALL SUPERB MUSICIANS

Thank you! I just saw them this past Monday and was just waiting for a chance to leave. Going a half hour to start without a word to the audience (or in song) was pretty intolerable. More like a combination of modern jazz and progressive rock on bluegrass instruments. Glad some are enjoying, but this isn't my thing.

You mean to tell me songs that have been around for well over 100 years are easier to recall from memory than new, original tunes? That's fascinating
