B&O RX2/1800 Repair - Noisy Motor

Күн бұрынMy B&O RX2 turntable generates loud noise when playing recently. I found there is a thread from website said a broken plastic collar inside motor causes the noise. Fortunately, I found a used replacement motor in eBay so I don't need to open my motor to fix it. In this video, I'd like to share my experience about how to replace the motor when dealing with the noisy motor issue for RX2/1800 turntable.

I bought my Beogram 1800 in April of 1983. Each time I’ve stored it the motor would be slow to start and make that noise. Two drops of 3 in 1 Oil fixes it every time. I just brought in out of storage for my Whiskey Library. I have a rebuilt cartridge from some place in New York. 40 years later, the sound is still amazing. Just listened to Joe Bonamasa from Red Rocks in 2022. Nothing compares.

Just found one of these phono players in a Goodwill. 13.00. MMC4 Cartridge still attached thankfully. Just doesn't spin too freely. This helps in determining how to disassemble though. Thanks for the post. Glad it didn't break you in replacement costs.
