I put together a few pictures of my DIY speaker project. The speakers sound incredible! I think it turned out very well for a home made speaker but check it out for yourself.

This is truly amazing work, and notice how the title says DIY, sure with thousands and thousands of man hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment to do so, and what did you get in the end, something that looks like a million bucks, and is really just priceless, but you would appreciate the craftsmanship more than the sound quality, I mean there's a finite point where the difference in sound and EQ is just a preference, whether you like ornate sound, or a hushed roar with a sensitive high end feeling, this is really just art, it shouldn't be treated as a speaker

This is true, great art piece for sure. As far as the SQ I don't know what it sounds like. But just because a plastic instrument follows the design of a woodwind. Doesn't make the SQ the same. I would assume that the materials used in B&W speakers are specific in design to reproduce a specific sound. I find it hard to believe that these would reproduce that same sound using different materials. This is a nice use of a machine shop to copy a speaker though. They came out great and look very nice. Nice job.

The general idea behind the perfect speaker is to have a cone that is infinitely rigid, strong and weighs nothing, and the cone actuates in perfect harmony with the signal input, essentially you are limited from having the real sound because you would need to have the perfect microphone, recording studio, sound processor, and amp, the speaker itself doesn't have to be the same material as the instrument being played through it because that would create a doubling effect, where you're really hearing say a trumpet being played through a trumpet.

Unfrocking believable. To reverse engineer and then fabricate these speakers shows an extraordinary level of intelligence and skill. Wow! I would not have put the B&W name on them though. These "fakes" are probably better than the real deal. Congratulations on an amazing job.

The single most impressive DIY build I've seen. It may actually be more impressive than the real B&Ws and possibly worth more when you count the labor involved. I like the carbon details. I think the real midrange "bulb" housing is just a fiberglass mold, probably not nearly as involved to build.

This is not a DIY home speaker build - you have some seriously fantastic craftmenship my friend - not to mention access to manufacturing equipment & quite a large pot of cash I would guess. These are custom built pro speakers even if it was for yourself and completed by yourself as 450hrs + materials + hire of equipment (if not yours) makes these gorgeous speakers priceless! Well done.

I don´t care if you work or not at Bowers and Wilkins, I don´t care if you spent more money putting together this project than buying a 800D, I don´t care if some dudes do not consider this as a "home made", I just want to show you my greatest respect for what you´ve done. DOESN'T LOOK LIKE UR SHORT OF A BOB OR TWO SEEING UR SET UP, SO TO MAKE SOMETHING THAT LOOKS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL SPEAKERS IS AMAZING + U USED ALL REAL WOOD UNLIKE B&W WHO USE LAYERS AND LAYERS OF WOOD COMPRESSED TOGETHER. JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY THE SPEAKERS WIRES AND OTHER INTERNAL BITS ARE SAME AS WHAT B&W USE IN THERE SPEAKERS. BUT 1 OF THE BEST EVER DIY SPEAKERS IVE SEEN

Fellow DIY'er here, and I have to say that I'm a little jealous of your access to all that CNC/Lathe equipment. The spherical cab is going to take me a while though... :-/
