Hi Quill! I have been thinking about placing the camera into the landing gear bay for a long time, but believe it or not - there is not much room for even the small gopro camera, so it took me a while to figure that out :-) Glad to hear that you liked the view 🙂

@@pilotsview1682 Yeah, I can imagine it being tricky - not a lot of extra room. Extra room is wasted space that could be used for other stuff such as cargo or fuel. Brings up the question of how anyone attempts to stow away in the wheel well, if you struggle to fit a camera in there it's clearly insane for a person to attempt it.

Do you think it's a bad design?
@skydive14242 жыл бұрын
Aerohk every aircraft has its quirks. Personally I like the 737 up to NG; they’re very reliable work horses. The absence of wheel well doors makes the landing gears system lighter and simpler. On the ground wheel well doors can also be a safety hazard for maintenance workers. This is not a problem with the 737. Pretty good design! Years ago, Boeing modified the reverser cascades in a way that the airflow from the reversers were directed differently in order to avoid wheel well contamination. No idea what difference that made...

Makes me wonder if they can rotate the wheel before impact, will it reduce the wear? It even line a aerodynamic flaps attached to the wheel to make them spin using the air speeding across them.
@Jrk5852 жыл бұрын
Adding something to spin them would require money and maintenance to the motors (yawn) when the tires can simply be replaced quickly. Also the aerodynamic flaps would probably take up space in some way shape or form and even if the flaps worked you have to remember that airliner wheels are heavy and would spin very little so it would be a waste of money.
@muthukumarannm3982 жыл бұрын

@chris14512 жыл бұрын
Doesn't mean it was to late. It depends on the traffic at the airport. If they have to get down quicker, they leave the gear up longer. If the runways are busy, they lower the gear sooner to loiter on the approach.
