Not true for all indian movies but a particular genre of commercial cinema more so in Telugu films and Tamil films to an extent

@@Ozukovsky Brother a little clarification there is no such genre called commercial cinema. Films which are commercially successful are called as commercial films but we got used called these star made films are commercial films it is just a regional thing. Our commercial star films are mixer of different genres

@@ajtalkes82 what I meant to say was this is a particular genre in commercial cinema called masala or mass films. Commercial cinema is different from independent cinema. Independent cinema are mostly made by the directors themselves with limited budget, no big crew, no studios, no theatrical release. They are made for film festivals in most cases. Sometimes rich production houses buy them for distribution. I know about cinema enough. Having studied cinema for my master's as well as working in the industry for the past 5 years I think I have a fair amount of idea how things work, what are the genres and how indian cinema has evolved over the years

Also there is nothing wrong in commercial cinema. Most of the films we enjoy or are exposed to are commercial films. Independent films can only be seen at film festivals and later some of them make it to OTTs. If some big director or producer likes it they sometimes back it for a limited theatrical release in certain metro centres. For example the Assamese movie, aamis was an independent film but it was liked by anurag kashyap at a film festival so it got a limited theatrical release of 3-4 days in the metro centres. Similarly all of Rima Das' works are independent cinema.

The thing on the middle of forehead is called "tilak or bottu" , every character has his own type of tilak . It represents the character of the person . Sun type represents always angry ,moon type represents calm cooler person . There were many versions of it .

I suggest watching it in its original language because the English translations are also more accurate. In the case of Bahubali, the scenes were shot twice, once in Telugu & again in Tamil (They basically made the whole movie twice in 2 languages which I think is very impressive) so both Tamil & Telugu are original but other shows like RRR & Salaar and any other Indian movies are best in its original language unless you understand another Indian language in which case it's always nice to watch it in a language you understand. Sometimes it might even feel better than the original because you understand it. Alternatively watch in the original language. You are currently watching in Hindi language.

Ok, guys, I've just realized something, and I've got to say this... 2 promises were made here, one by Shivagamini (the queen mother) and one by Baahubali. And both were broken due to the person standing in between when they were made. Shivagamini promised Bhallaldeva that she would marry him to Devasena, and Devasena's portrait was in the middle - this promise was broken because Devasena chose Baahubali instead. Baahubali promised Devasena that her respect would not be tarnished in any way, and Kattappa was in the middle - this promise was broken because Kattappa killed Baahubali, and that eventually led to Bhallaldeva taking Devasena prisoner. And before anyone scolds me for giving them spoilers, I'm not, they know all this already.

❤I think a lil late comment but every one has different symbol on their forehead has a mean. Like devsena ( female lead) has resembles a fusion of the male and the female gender symbols and stands for gender equality. Go feminism. While Amarendra Baahubali has half moon. represents a calm and kind nature, much like Baahubali. Bhallala Deva ( villain) has rising sun represents power and strength which pretty much explains the role of strong, vicious Bhallala Deva.Kattappa’s forehead represents his slavery and helplessness.
