In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. What an egg-citing run! Some horrible draws and some egg-sasperating attack patterns-I thought the run was going to be laid to rest for sure. But time and time again, Baalor hatched the perfect plan and egg-spertly whipped up a line that leaves all of chat shell-shocked. Egg-squisite gameplay, triumphing over all enemies-over easy hallways, over medium elites, over hard bosses, all being laid to waste by one egg-ceptional streamer feelsstrongman. Despite the challenges, he never cracked under the pressure, keeping his sunny demeanor in the face of egg-strordinary odds. Repeatedly poaching victory from the jaws of defeat, with chat’s egg-suberant support behind him. But all yolking aside, this run was a true testament to the huevos it takes to conquer the egg-streme challenges the spire serves. Omeletting you know, we're all egg-static for the streak to continue!

Baalor mentions at the end here that playing Disarm on the purge turn is useless since the Heart purges negative strength, but it's worth noting it's even worse than that if you try the Dark Shackles / Piercing Wail trick. Since they apply negative strength but an end of turn strength up buff, the Heart purges the negative strength but they retain the buff meaning they end up stronger than if you had left them alone.

5:02 This actually feels really true. With clad I feel like I just win act 1 and 2 but I die to act 3 bosses or one bad act 3 elite. With silent and defect I die in act 2. And if I survive act 2 I usually reach the heart.

This run could have been a much different run, with reaper, rupture, heavy blade, offering, hemokenisis x2 (both with upgrades I believe) and bloodletting, and bites to get hp back

As per your talk with chat a few days ago, i did a reprogram + holograms + as much draw as i could find run, beat the heart at A18 with little issue, it was awesome. First time i've ever done a 0 orb defect run, it was very interesting, and very funny watching my original lightning orb do somewhere between 0 and 0 damage every turn XD

Timestamp for when Baalor picks up the cards and relics in the thumbnail (Bludgeon x2 and all three eggs): Frozen Egg: (38:14) Molten Egg: (40:40) Bludgeon #1: (42:08) Toxic Egg: (52:52) Bludgeon #2: (1:07:48) That seems like it would be quite the crunchy breakfast! ...and also a bit poisonous!

I swear when I play clad, fiend fire is the rarest card in the game. I can make due in an exhaust deck, but I’ll see a fiend fire once in 15-20 runs of clad

Was doing an ironclad run asc 6 with a corruption barricade build got to time eater abd my barricade disappeared not active not in draw pile or discard and it wasn't exhausted. Was this a glitch or am I missing something?

Lol, I just did a run where I had 2 Bludgeons, and could buy a 3rd one, but thought it was too much at that point of the game (Act 2). In the end with 6-7 energy (from a Flower and Berserk) and a 3 Pommel Strikes + 3 Headbutts, it was already ridiculous with two Bludgeons. And that was like the whole build: high energy to play Bludgeon + some defense, and to repeatedly get it back into hand to possibly even play 2 Bludgeons in one turn. No Snecko Eye.

0:20 what do you think qualifies someone as a "great programmer?" Hint: it's not having the technical know-how to write a game in raw x86 assembler. Languages are just tools. it's being able to understand and utilise those tools that makes someone great, whether that's C, Rust, Dart, or even GML like Undertale. Not Unity though. I draw the line at Unity. It has single-handedly perpetuated the shovelware market for the last 10 years.

do you feel like it's a bit excessive time-wise to try to feed in a lot of fights? e.g.: 55:48 with the darklings fight, you could've ended it immediately. you already have 106 max health, those 4 max health wouldn't make a difference most likely and it makes watching a bit boring. there's no tension, it's just taking damage and waiting (in the darklings fight is specifically more annoying because they respawn)
