Baalwala embarked on a thrilling adventure to Lahore, seeking a magnificent mansion built exclusively for an elephant. He began his journey from Delhi Gate and strolled through the vibrant streets, soaking up the local culture and the bustling bazaars. As he wandered deeper into the heart of Lahore, he marveled at the exquisite architecture and the vibrant colors of the city. After a few hours of exploring, Baalwala finally arrived at the mansion and was taken aback by its grandeur. The mansion was indeed built solely for an elephant. Baalwala couldn't believe his eyes and felt grateful for the chance to witness such a magnificent sight. He left with a sense of wonder and a deeper appreciation for the incredible diversity of our world.

Once again I was lost in the past , remembering the days , I used to walk in those streets . Sometimes I feel like walking along my dear mother , the next moment I feel like I am lost in the DUNDH . See the past and then wake up and come out of that dundh again . I enjoy feel happy and sad at the same time . The time that is gone will never come back again . We will be gone but the JAG WALA MELA will never end , only the faces will change .

What a beautiful excercise.... Your narrative bridges my communication with my late father.Long long ago, he would narrate to us his children, the Lahore stories. The 'Dehlijs'the 'Deories' the 'Darwaze' and 'Darrs' of Lahore ,were a part our life. Although we went to different convents and schools but our handwriting was always matched with that of Foreman Christian College, My fathers Alma mater. We reside(d )in indias most modren city, Chandigarh but until our Dad was alive we LIVED in Lahore... You have brought back Lahore into our lives, You have brought back our Dad. We can never thank you enough. And the same what you said, same my dad used to say about his beloved city Amritsar. He died with the hope to see his birth city but could not get a passport. And I and my son got passports and changed our nationality and we can go to any country but denied Indian visas because they would not give to anyone whose parents had any linkage with India. Salaam to Amritsar my father’s city and Gurduspur my mother’s city.

Besides emotional deprivation I would also witness in displaced people the insecurity of settling in life after partition. The challenge to their dignity . In 1960s, 1970 and 1980s ppl of other cities were founding a deep attraction towards the markets of old Lahore bcz still at that time others cities were not had big markets like these.❤❤❤

I heard that they call the elephant mansion as "saray". It is exactly like in Iran. They call the mansion for traders or travellers with their camels as "saray". True, usually the trader/traveller will sleep on the upper storey & they tether their camels below beside a drinking pool for animals. I think Lahore is also a city where the old Silk Road went through

Some of my most favorite memories of Lahore is when I used to visit as a child. My grandparents lived in androon Lahore in a neighborhood just like the ones you explore in your vlogs. Lahore has such a rich history, thank you for showing this aspect of the city. Great work!

Collecting & narrating History with such love 🙏🏼 wish someone would do the same, this side of the border ! My father’s side came from Bannu (NWFP) & my Mother’s from Sargoda .. My husbands from Bannu & DeraIsmail Khan .. My Bua stayed back & lived btwn Chak Radhanagar &Lahore .. her children married & became ‘ Pakistanis’ like lakhs torn apart .. we heard the tales of joy & laughter & tears .. which continues to date . My last visit was in 2011 When was yours ? Would love to connect 🙏🏼

After a very long time I have witnessed such an informative intriguin and very captivating series of videos...am an anthropologist and have great interest in historical.buildings and the lost stories around them....loved how u present and conceive ur videos. Its a shame that our gov will make useless people ministers (e.g. Wahab Riaz sports minister for Punjab, Sherry Rehman Env Minister), BaaWala deserves to be made head of some antiquates department, focusing on the walled city, under his leadership and the budget, I am sure he do wonders.
