Do you share the link with students to join as in Kahoot? Or do you manage the game by asking teams to pick up the questions?

I just screen share it with the students and ask them to pick the number. The teacher does all the clicking at their instruction - almost like a gameshow host. :)

I would pick specific students from the team to answer then. Every student should get a chance. This activity is for them to practice, they have no choice but to participate.
