War Stories with Mark Felton

Babi Yar was one of the greatest crimes of WWII. The Germans determined to 'sanitise' the site of the massacre by destroying all the buried bodies. For the concentration camp inmates forced to do this grim work, they faced a choice between being killed by the SS or staging a mass breakout in the hope that some could survive. This is their story.

It's poetic that the prisoners found the tools of their escape on the bodies of the dead, they had been forced to dig up and burn. It's like the dead were helping them escape.

@@lukemastaah It's common sense. Food just doesn't grow right there. Just like in this nation food is grown elsewhere and transported to people. When the Allied Powers did strategic bombings they bombed highways and air strips which was used for Germany to transport goods which included food. So when that happened...everyone was short of food including these prisoners. Just think if the US was bombed today by another country and they wiped out our road networks and air fields....lots of people would die because they won't have access to food and medicine.

Say the wrong thing and risk being canceled and losing everything. Thats not Trump or maga or america first or the right... thats the left... including the current administration. I always feel inspired when I hear about people that decide to take their fate into their own hands, rather than meekly submitting. It is fortunate that there always seems to be that guy that goes the extra mile. I'm reminded of the Heraclitus quote, “Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn’t even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.” Thank God for the warriors among us.

The Christian God is fine with all 3. Many other religions have literal gods of War or have allegedly destroyed entire cities or flooded the entire planet. Thanks for this Mark, it’s important that as much as possible is documented on all WW2 horrors. Yes I know this will be documented in obscure books, archives etc but the average Joe doesn’t have such easy access to them.

These brave souls went through hell to ensure that we know about what happened at Babi Yar and today some idiots deny that it ever happened. Let's ensure that their sacrifice won't go in vain by remembering them and everyone who was killed.

Incredible story well told story. Let's not forget the Japanese were doing similar mass executions totally around 6,000,000, maybe as many as 10,000,000. Support Mark on Pateron so he will continue telling us the forgotten stories of WWII.
