NickToVa I feel as though it was inconsistent. It came out of completely left field for me when he actually helped Baby. But it took me a while to realize that Doc wouldnt really ever hurt Baby, I think Doc understands Babys situation if he understands Babys ear ringing, so I guess if you look at all the subtleties, you can tell Doc was just bluffing when he was threatening Baby at the bar with Deb

1:02 “I was in love once” that was enough to really endear doc to me. Such a simple thing but has a wide meaning. Chances are his love bailed once they realised what his life was, he saw what he had in Baby and Debra, he saw a chance to have it back (metaphorically)

Could be any number of things. The possibilities are myriad. It could be that he lives the life he lives now because his love met a tragic end. It could be that his love betrayed him, and he went from wanting a family and a good life, to doing what he did in his youth before he wanted to settle down. Maybe his love is still alive, but she's been taken hostage and though he will never see her again he does what he does to keep her alive. Etc.

Buddy being the final villain was a great twist. Doc seemed to be the natural choice especially after he threatened to hurt Debora if Baby didn't keep working for him, then Bats was the psycho who always mistreated Baby so he would've been the next logical choice. But Buddy who treated Baby well, defended him and even liked similar music, HE turns out to be the "real" bad guy? Damn. He was also a tragic villain since none of that would happen if Darling wasn't killed.

The entire point of Buddy and Darling was showing what Baby and Debora would become if they stayed in the game. It’s pretty clear that Darling isn’t that skilled of a criminal, meaning that she probably got pulled in by her love for Buddy similar to how Deborah was willing to run from the cops with Baby. It’s a really cool villain type of being both person vs person and person vs self at the same time.

There's an alternate version of this scene that can be viewed in the script that makes Doc's sacrifice all the more tragic. Just before Buddy shows and after killing the gunmen, there's a pause after he tells them to run, before Doc then says "you and I are a team" to Baby, proving that he really did come to care for him.

Things I just noticed 1) the rising sound effect from the film's score at 2:00 goes into Brighton Rock until 2:09 2) the amount of bass, the clearness, and the volume of Brighton Rock changes with each shot depending on how close the camera is to Buddy's car 3) at 2:17 Buddy revs his car to the beat 4) at 2:47 a large portion of Brighton Rock is cut

Despite the info that came out about Kevin Spacey after this movie..everyone cast was perfect for thier parts and the soundtrack is fire all the way around......this movie and Scott pilgrim are both criminally underrated ..

More satisfying for sure, ends the same way it began as he's driving off into the sequel a different person. Baby Driver 2 could've ended with the prison montage.

Lol the amount of people bitching about Kevin Spacey's career. Just shut up and enjoy the movie seriously. There's a reason its called an allegation. It hasn't been proved yet. Until I see legitimate evidence that he has actually done the shit they say he has I shall continue to believe he is innocent and love him as an actor and a human being. Argue if you wish I'm sticking by my beliefs and no one is going to change that.

Kruegerism if there was just one or two people accusing him, I might believe it's false. but all kinds of people have come out against him. if that many people are saying it, it's probably true. even Jon Bernthal, who also was in this film, spoke up against him. and remember a joke about him revolving around sexual assault was made on family guy, which also called out Brett Ratner, who was also accused. and Seth McFarland, the creator of the show, called out Harvey Weinstein. but perhaps the strongest piece of evidence is that when the reports first came out, rather than saying he didn't do it, Spacey tried to come up with an accuse by saying he was drunk and he was gay. if he truly didn't do it, there would be no reason to try to justify his actions because he didn't do them. he would just say he didn't do it. I think there's plenty of evidence.

Theman Joe Probably cause they are like everyone else who have accused other celebrities of sexual misconduct, just doing it for money. Sure I can believe the whole Weinstein thing I mean the dude looks like a creep but it’s all just getting way too out of hand, it’s just become a witch hunt. Also how can they punish Kevin for a crime he may have committed over 30 years ago isn’t there like some year limit to report a crime or something like that?

Kruegerism did you pay attention to my reply? your making it sound like only one person came out against him. I think it was like 18 people who accused him. 18! SOME of them might be lying. but 18 different people wouldn't ALL be faking it just for money. and the stuff he did 30 years ago wasn't the only thing he did. as I said, Jon Bernthal, who played Griff in baby driver, said that he was quote "a bit of a bully" on set. and that movie just came out this year! and I also heard someone (I forget exactly who) described the set of house of cards as a quote "toxic workplace environment". that show is also fairly recent. professional people in Hollywood like that wouldn't falsely accuse him. oh, and one more thing. how do you explain the thing I brought up about he himself coming up with an excuse rather than denying it?

Doc died like a god he helped the two lovers escape while he was shot twice and then said that he would handle the police and even tried to defend the lovers against the angriest man behind a cop car
