I've long believed raising a child is the ultimate creative act and that creativity is so present in the naming process! I love that you mention Clementine! That is one of my favorite girl names! I am partial to very antiquated names...Lorelai, Eleanor,...essentially anything that would been trendy in the 1800s! I come frome Francophone family so very French names are quite prevalent amongst my relatives and their accents can make typically American sounding names (such as my niece, Jordyn, can come out a bit awkward, sometimes even quite cringe worthy). Some name recommendations for you and Luke: -JUDE (this was my dearly departed Brother's name...also literary, à la Jude the Obscure) -ROMAN (strong and literary in that the word roman is French for "book." You liked Rudy and a nickname I love for Roman is Romy...somewhat similar) -REIGN (quite cool sounding. I've been thinking of this for a girl or boy...in the wake of QEII passing away as I am fascinated by royalty.) -AUTUMN (I too had a sweet friend from long ago with this as a lovely name...also, my favorite season, good for a November baby!) -MARLOWE (could be interesting for a girl or boy. Also, literary, á la Shakespeare's rival writer, Christopher Marlowe) - OTTOLINE (I find the historical Lady Ottoline Morrell quite fascinating, including her unique name...she is worth looking up!)

Love the name Bly! I've always wanted to name my daughter Blythe. It gives me the Anne of Green Gables vibes without using the name Anne because I personally don't care for that name. Plus there are a couple people in my family already named Anne lol. The spelling is how it is in the books (Gilbert Blythe) and it means happy :).

I'm guessing Emma and Blade, but all the names on your list were gorgeous. My husband had very clear criteria when naming our children, names had to be simple to spell, short (not able to be shortened) and he really didn't like unusual names. He only had one boy name he liked so all my cool boy names were thrown out the window. Instead I gave them middle names that meant something to me. My daughter has my nickname my dad gave me and my son has my maiden name in Irish.

I LOVE the name Cricket! I don't want children though, but I may use it if I ever get another pet someday (but I would use the French translation which is « criquet ») and I just LOVE how we can hear a cricket chirping in the background during your video. Our favorite doctor's first daughter's name is Tessa. I love the name. His second daughter's name is Tieren which I think is pretty. ( pronounced teer-en) We named our first cat who was very petite, Zoe. Tiny name for a tiny, sweet cat. I love the name Zoe. When we acquired 2 tuxedo cat sister kittens in 2020, I named them Willow & Pixie. And boy, I named them correctly.....they are like their names. I like the name Grayson. You love Anne of green gables, enough that it’s come up in other videos, no better short literary girl’s name than Anne (with an E of course). I’m biased because it’s my middle name. If we’re ever lucky enough to have another little girl, I’m lobbying hard for Anna, I think it fits well with our last name, is sort of named after me but not entirely, and Anne of green gables is confidence and kindness goals 😊

Early in our relationship, my husband and I used to refer to our "future theoretical son" by name. As in, we had a name that was sort of silly but sort of wonderful and that's how we would talk about our future and the possibility of a child. So, a few years later, when I finally gave birth to that son, he already had a name; we'd been saying his name for years, almost as if calling him into reality. It's a really fun and really magical story, but I do feel like we missed out on some of the back-and-forth of figuring out names. (We also had a girl's name, easily agreed upon, written in stone, but I had a hunch we were having a boy and that hunch was right). We won't be having any more children, but I still have a few names I love on the back burner--they'll probably end up used for dogs and cats.

My fiance and I are nowhere near having children, but we made an agreement on names. He really wants and a girl when we have children and I really want a boy, we agreed that if we had a girl he could give her a first name and I would give her a middle so we both participated in the naming process (we said we would do the opposite way if we had a boy), I'm a Sagittarius, I'm super adventurous and indecisive so I drift between one name and the other for a boy every so often (I have considered everything from Jesse to Sirius), my guy is a Taurus, super salt of the earth and has had a girl name in his head (that hasn't changed since he thought of it in highschool), Silver (he is also a metal worker). The name Silver seemed a bit odd to me at first but it has slowly really grown on me because I think it's super pretty and unique
