When the baby is in a breached position in the womb, they can have a hard time coming out... Instead of head first. Unfortunately, it happens to all mammals. They did a c section just in case. Happens to humans all the time.

I would think Mama orangs would have an easier time reuniting after C-section than other primates do, since orangutans have a very strong maternal drive.

why is the staff feeding her? she should be with her mom! when there isn't the critical bonding at the beginning the moms can reject their babies. She sould have been placed with her mom even before she even woke up from the surgery

They are awsome and share 97% of human dna. We need to do everything possible to help them survive. Babies stay w/their mothers 7to 8 years, then she will have another one, they live 60 to 70 years in the wild and are very gentle and intelligent! Please help!

S nice bame for her Wolf be MISOL which means MY SUN IN Spanish. LUNA IS MOON in Spanish . My father Always called me MISOL because he said I was his sun so I think what better name for this beautiful little orangutan baby girl than MISOL and her mother LUNA. Translate this and is the moon and my sun. That is a nice name for baby orangutan.
