They leave the babies behind when the herd is going for a long walk to grazing hills or pastures. The little ones will just slow down the herd and attract predators. They will eventually reunite with their mothers when they come back loaded with milk.

It’s almost like daycare for kids, I remember those days picking up my son from daycare, we were so happy to see each other ❤️❤️

This is so humane which I hope can be adapted in the western world. It’s for the safety of the young ones and a dog is kept to guard them. They do not deprive the babies of their mother as the mother returns having grazed well. It’s like a sheep nursery 😃
