A juvenile Yunnan snub-nosed monkey is abandoned by his mother while a half-brother becomes her favorite. In order to survive he must depend on the generosity of his other family members.

@@ayushkumar-bg1xf For the most part they don't. In a lot of the monkey breeds I've started following the adult males and for the most part the fathers too, will shoo off any baby that comes near it. In breeds where there is an alpha male and one or two lesser alphas, the alpha is commonly the the father of most of the babies born at any given time. That's why they have to kick the males out at about 5 years old or, given that they'll hump anything, there would be far too much inbreeding. I've been watching these guy's channel that covers the monkeys of Hong Kong. Arroz Marsico is his name. I don't know what happens regarding inbreeding as far as the alpha male breeding with his daughters. But with that breed there's a boss female that actually is the leader and the alpha males can and do get ousted from time to time. That may be necessary to avoid too much inbreeding as well. Anyway, in humans you'd be right but not as it pertains to most monkeys, and primates in general that I've learned about.

I think their cute , I watched 3 hours of these monkies and the snow monkeys is china it's pretty there but at the altitude is so high and gets so cold in the winter !! I like pbs they show a variety of animals !!

I watched this entire documentary recently and its absolutely phenomenal. The monkeys are absolutely gorgeous and cameraman Jacky Poon 💙 is very easy on the eyes 👀 too! ☺

I watched the entire documentary the other day and there were two particular scenes that had us laughing so hard. One was the mother trying to wean 'the prince' and the other was when it was nap time and the little prince decided he was going to have a temper tantrum the whole time. If there is any way you could put up those two scenes that would be great! They're some of the best in the whole documentary :P

Jeremy Weatherly yea i guess I shouldn't say they were the best scenes as the whole documentary was great, but certainly some of the most amusing :P We recently had an election here in Alberta and the conservative government got voted out after 44 years oh you should HEAR the fits they're having. Ever since watching the documentary we've been referring to everyone acting like that as 'monkey babies' lol. We are so very similar all us primates :P

This is something that happens almost always in nature. When twins happen in the jungle, one will be left to die while the other will be taken care of. It’s nature. It would be almost impossible for the mother to deal with both of them.
