@@gonzalezsfamily1483are you dumb a toddler does not have the brain capacity to self regulate not only that but it is a normal and healthy part for a child’s development to throw a tantrum at that age it expands their lungs and it teaches them how to express their emotions the “terrible 2’s” stage is very real and they feel what we would call “big emotions” that they cannot process properly which causes them to scream and cry because they literally cannot express their feelings or needs verbally because that is a baby you’re supposed to pay attention to baby it’s important for their development as well and it is not “spoiling them”

My “baby” will turn 40 this summer. However, from the day he was born and at least until he started school, he could throw a temper tantrum! This is very tame by comparison. He didn’t even cry, usually. He just screamed and screamed as loudly as he could. Finally, I told him that he was not allowed to scream like that in my house, and if he didn’t stop he would have to go outside until he did. Very strong willed, though, and wasn’t about to let me win. So, I put him outside. He kept screaming as he ran around the exterior of the house, stopping at every door and window to give me another scream. Finally, he wore himself out, I guess, and the screaming stopped, so I let him back in. I wish I could say that was the end of the tantrums, but, no. However, he toned it down some and never screamed like that again. 😅

As I understand the situation from reading comments this little darling is revealing frustration due to being weaned. It's not an easy time for baby or mama. While usually what the child misses most at this stage is the close cuddly time which she will learn to accept in leau of nursing, this period of adjustment simply has to take place. Some children will just fuss a little the first day then again at bedtime and some will whine and carry on like they're dying for days. This reflects how well the parent has already taught their child to accept No means No. Note Mom must never backslide and give in because then she has a child that knows just how much she has to carry on to get her own way, and Mom will be looking at that whiny face frequently instead of happy smiling face a lot in the future.

realmommylife @Paula Hayes @Ihatestupidpeople Really??? What is wrong with ALL OF U? First ... This is supposed to be a forum for discussion .... Not a place to perfect your insults like naughty 10 yro who need their mouths washed out with soap. NO! I DO NOT ASCRIBE to that as reality. It is a figure of speech to make a point & I would never do it or endorse it. That being said... To Mum ... It is ok to ignore...especially if youre weaning. Not every woman loves nursing. It can be painful to mum and baby. Pump Instead. However... there is NO DOCTOR on this earth who will tell U persistent head banging ... ON GLASS... is something to ignore! If your doctor says to ignore then U NEED a DIFFERENT DOC! It is a sign of emotional distress and self HARM that can cause a great deal of continued mental & physical health issues through the formative early years ... and one of the more prevalent symptoms of Autism. But to sit there... as a mum.. filming her...while she bangs her head on a GLASS table and do NOTHING... is REMISS of your duty to protect her as her mother. Actually it's CHILLING to watch! I had to watch this twice after reading so many neg comments to make sure my facts were correct before chiming in. It is your LACK of emotion as she ... starting at 1:02 thru the end of the vid ... BANGS HER HEAD 12 times on the sharp edge of a GLASS TABLE!! The last 1min 26secs is why everyone here is so passionate. It is beyond anyone's comprehension that any loving mum would just watch. Course we were not with u during this event or others that you've not posted. Unless this vid was a one off ... which is doubtful.. it IS a form of ABUSE. It's awful to say but EXCEEDINGLY awful to allow. Why would u think this was ok to post? It has done nothing but shown the world U may have SERIOUS emotional issues YOURSELF that need to be ADDRESSED. Do U have post partem depression? Nothing to be ashamed of to seek counseling. U have another child there watching this debacle happen. using your lack of empathy towards your own baby as a very poor example of motherhood. Remember .. U are this BABY GIRLS entire WORLD!!! She watches everything U do ... and everything U dont! This was a few yrs ago and NO ONE can do anything about it now. So let's all take a lesson from this ...when most other parents see this they will head into GRIZZLY MUM MODE. It's that way from the first moment pregnancy is confirmed and NEVER goes away... and they are more than ready to defend ANY CHILD they think is in danger!!! Use some common sense next time U decide to post something that does not show U in a favorably light. & be glad there are folks who are willing to step up to help you to be a better and more positive mother.

Kala, take a look at the baby. There are no tears, she was nursed fifteen minutes ago. She's not in distress, she's mad. Real mad. Look at how quickly she turns off the "crying" when she wants to at the end of the video Parents do not have to (and should not) give in to this kind of behavior. She needs a nap, not a nipple stuck in her mouth to shut her up. "Comfort nursing" is a bad idea. It reinforces the idea that sticking something in your mouth for oral gratification will make you feel better. Over eating? Smoking? Pills? Giving food to a baby to comfort them just sets the stage for bad habits. The mom is not being cold hearted, and in actuality SAYING that to the mom is cold hurted and hurtful.

Good for you for sticking with it. Theres a video on here where a two year old cried all day and then the mom gave in anyway and nursed her. Why give in when youve already let them scream all day for nothing. BTW, the kid is still on here nursing at 3 1/2 years old.

Little Deb I saw that one - ugh - I was so angry at that mom - to me she was just stupid and filling her own narcissism. The mom here sticks to her decision - good for her. The other mom with the 3 1/2 year old still nursing id like to slap.

I remember what this was like, and getting bit and scratched too! They want what they want when they want it!

Time for some discipline. I’d have her sit somewhere and chill . What is it she is so upset about ?

Give her a hug and comfort her. The weaning process can be hard for a baby! There are gentler ways of doing it than ignoring her cries. The poor baby is tired. You should've have let her murse for a short while. I don't agree with going cold turkey with a small child.

Exactly! Why ween her so young anyway. Thats ridiculous. All babies stop on their own unless theres disability. Its much less abusive to let them stop on their own then to let them bang their head on a table and TAPE them doing it because you dont want to give them WHAT YOU STARTED TO BEGIN WITH. PIck the child up when shes banging her head on the table. As parents we have to protect our children even its from themselves. This is abuse. Plain and simple.

I hate stupid people! Why, why is she a fool? For asking the mom to show some kindness toward her child? In that case, I wouldn't mind being called a fool, either--by someone like you! In fact, I would consider it a compliment!

Paula Hayes True. The worst part is filming the poor child crying for her mother's attention!

Kala, she has not gone cold turkey. Mom just nursed her 15 minutes ago.

She's tired. She needs a nap. Guess what? The crankness and tantrum will always be much worse when they are tired.
@RealMommyLife8 жыл бұрын
I'm aware of that. I was trying to wean her at the time and she was in the habit of nursing to sleep. I was finally able to wean her at 18 months. She's 4 now, thank you.

+RealMommyLife I understand that. But my point is its only going to get worse. They go from screaming when they are tired to becoming fussy and irritable and louder the older they get. I have two sons now 10 and 11. At night I sometimes make them go to bed earlier than usual because I can see that they are tired. Right under there eyes it actually starts to look bruised. A light purple bruise mark appears. They'll argue with me insisting they aren't tired. Once they are in bed they will continue to insist they are wide awake until they fall sound asleep right in the middle of insisting.

Good for you for not reacting. So many parents try to talk their kids out of a tantrum, which usually just makes it worse. I admire your patience and fortitude, Mom.
