After months of trying almost ready to give up, then I changed my thread to. 60 wt, and it works perfect. No loops or gathers in the back. Superior thread, 60 wt

I’ve struggled with FMQ on my Jazz II. Tension is definitely the culprit. I agree about the TopStitch needles. I like the titanium ones. And for my machine, the prefilled FilTek bobbins seem to work better than using ones I made with the bobbin winder. There also seems to be co fusion about threading the machine. Maybe a demo on how to thread the JazzII?

I struggled soo bad with threading my Jazz2, I took it back to the dealer, where I bought it from and they showed me. Plus I also struggled with winding a bobbin, showed me that too.. is that an option for you? To take back to the dealer?

Hi, we have uploaded several videos for the Baby Lock Jazz II this past month. Here is a link to the threading video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i918o91hl7_SqJs.html. We also have a dedicated playlist for the Jazz II, so you can find all the available videos easier.

I just got my Jazz2 on March 7th. The threading was still not right with adjusting the tensions. I have a friend who does commercial sewing, and she checked it out, and it was my bobbin. She took out the bobbin casing and barely adjusted the first tiny screw and VOILA!!! My stitches turned out perfect! Why are these not checked before shipment? She accomplished in 15 minutes what would have taken me hours reading and watching videos...IF there is a video that covers that. I am going to LOVE this machine!!

Hi Dee! Typically we don’t recommend adjusting the bobbin case screw yourself. Your bobbin issue might have been from several common problems: using a thread type not suited to this project, the bobbin not being wound too loosely, or not securing the needle thread in the correct guides on top of the machine. Hopefully, this can help avoid any future issues! :) Happy sewing.

I just bought a previously loved Jazz II, how many stitches per inch are you getting on your FMQ?
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing Жыл бұрын
Hi Kim, when doing free motion quilting, it is customary to lower the machine’s feed dogs so that the fabric only moves with the motion of the sewer’s hands. Therefore, the length of the stitch is controlled by you, and you have a choice to move the fabric so that the stitches are very short or very long or even don’t move the fabric at all and the machine will stitch in place!

More specifically, the needle stop up, or down option wasn't in the Jazz I design. That's why I'm upgrading.

What are stitches per inch? Dial looks to be set at 2.5 and needle is in center position. Is this correct?
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackie, yes, the needle will need to be in the center position. The setting for the stitch length dial is 0-4 mm, and the stitch width dial is 3.5 mm. You can find more information about the settings needed for free motion quilting on page 28 of the machine manual.

What do you do with the end of the threads? In hand quilting we knot and hide the end inside the batting. What about with machine quilting? Thanks to anyone who can help

I've seen Leah Day do the same thing with her machine quilting. There are some cool needles that hook like a crochet hook and you just bury the knots.
