Great video - I learned so much from that. You mentioned some stabilisers I've never even heard of and some that I have also been using in the wrong way. Thank you so much.

I also use the soft fusible to cover up labels that itch on readymade.

Great information! I am wondering which combination of needle and stabilizer I need to just do simple embroidery on cotton fabric. I mainly use my machine to make labels for my quilts and I cannot get the lines to come out straight. Any advice on this would be awesome and appreciated! 💕🧵

Hi, I was wondering whether you would advise embroidering straight onto a baby sweater/cardigan and if so which combination of stabilisers would you use. Or, if you would do a separate applique,cut it out then sew it onto the garment. Your advice would be most welcome. Thank you for your time, Kind regards Norma (from UK)

nice presentation. it introduced stabilizers as as "show and tell" format it did not give any explanation as to why the particular stabilizers attributes are the best option for the project. to their credit, they explained how to use press away. its a great video if you already know the products and have experience with them i did not learn what I was looking for.

Hi Janice! Thank you for your feedback. We have actually since created a longer, more in-depth stabilizer class over at our Baby Lock Online Classes website! It's a great class; I highly recommend! sewathomeclasses.com/hoop-stabilize-embroidery-machine

I love having the different stabilizers for different projects - my problem is once they have been opened (and sometimes it is a while between uses) it isn't easy knowing which is which? how do others identify the product?
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Kay! We like to roll up the outer paper and put it inside the tube of the stabilizer so that we can always slip it out to identify which stabilizer it is. Happy embroidering! :)

Hello, thank you so much for this information. It is very helpful. Would you mind telling me what the name is of the brand of stabalizer? Are they all the same brand or are they from different companies?

Hello, the stabilizer featured in this video is Baby Lock stabilizer. You can find more information about our stabilizers here: babylock.com/accessories/stabilizers We also wanted to let you know we have recently updated the packaging of our stabilizer assortments, so you may see a few different styles at your local Baby Lock store.

Hi! Question: are you using a Baby Lock Machine? And if so, are you using Finishing Touch Bobbin Thread?
@lamirada90638
@lamirada90638 7 жыл бұрын
No using Brother PE770... using embroidery thread that came with the machine
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 7 жыл бұрын
I ask because Finishing Touch is what works best for bobbin thread on Baby Lock machines. :) Perhaps more stabilizer would help? You shouldn't have to adjust your tension. As we are Baby Lock, we just know Baby Lock. You may have to find someone who knows Brother best; maybe there is a recommended bobbin thread or something? Best wishes!

I make purses, totes, and make-up bags... I use fusible interfacing. Not sure, but I think I don't have to use embroidery stabilizer since I'm already using fusible interfacing. I guess my question is can I skip the embroidery stabilizer? Thanks in advance for your help.
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 7 жыл бұрын
Good question! It depends on the fabric you are using, but, you may be able to get away without having to use stabilizer because, as you said, you have the interfacing underneath to help stabilize your fabric. If your fabric is thinner and you have a dense design, you can always use stabilizer, in addition to the interfacing if you need it. If I'm unsure, I always like to stitch out a sample to get the stabilizer recipe just right for that project. Thanks for asking!

What do you mean by " I just basted the pillow, i didn't try the hoop all this pillow" ?, I wonder how i can embroidery on a ready made pillow without taking out its stitches.
@jennifercarrier5708

She meant she used the baste in hoop function on the machine. She only hooped the stabilizer.

Is there a way to eliminate all the extra threads on the back of a design? I am always trimming them and it does not look so good on towels etc
@babylocksewing
@babylocksewing 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rose! What machine are you using? If your machine automatic trim, it would leave a short thread tail that cuts both the top and bottom threads. You can turn the thread trimming feature off on most of our Baby Lock machines, but, then you have to trim all of your jump threads on the top and bottom. On multi-needle machines, you may be able to shorten the tails to a 1/2" within the machine settings. If you have an excessive amount of extra hanging threads, it may be time for your machine to get a cleaning and tune up, perhaps taking a look at the tension, as well.

Thank you for getting back to me.. I have a baby lock Flourish11. Do I have that option? The treads are long.
