Hahaha... great reaction, as usual! This needs to get watched in context because all the concert was totally mental but makes sense as a whole package. They started with this theatrical number and the lipsynced techno hardcore version of "Headbanger", continued with babybones and so and ended with the Kami Band on the encore (except for "Akatsuki" unfinished version) and Su reborn as a metal goddess. It's kinda a progression to the "true metal" performance, an allegory of their history.

Never would have thought they would remix their own song and start a concert like this. Very theatrical and then BAM in your face dance remix! Very impressed these young girls learned yet more choreography to do two versions of this song in the same concert. As you know, they played Headbanger later as an encore with the Kami Band joining in. What an amazingly fun concert from start to finish.

I really didn't like this Headbanger remix the first time I heard it (I hated this sort of music when I was a kid, it was everywhere), but over time and repeated listenings it is good fun now ... plus when it is taken in context with the whole of the Legend 1997 show it makes so much more sense.

Ave Maria was covered beautifully by Japanese Jazz singer, Youko Takahashi, who also did the epic anime opening, "Cruel Angel Thesis," for Neon Genesis Evangelion.

This concert (Legend 1997) is an allegory of Babymetal evolution from pop to metal : it ends with Su being crucified, fully rebirthed as a metal Goddess. It also has the one time performed Akatsuki unfinished version and Tamashii no Refran. An awesome show with a meaningful guiding line.

Love it! This is one of the least known tracks of babymetal. This version of Headbanger was from the same concert as BabyMetal Death when they crucified Su.

THANK YOU!!! The Night of 15 Mix is one of the more obscure version of this song, and it's one of my all time favorites. Yuyoyuppe, the DJ/producer who produced many of the tracks on BABYMETAL's first album (this was _before_ the Kami Band was really a thing), he did remixes of some of the tracks that was later featured as bonus material or performed as surprises at live events. If you are looking for other amazing but obscure BABYMETAL versions, look for the Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Nemesis ver.) which has Chistopher Amott from Arch Enemy on it.

Ok you two what this concert was about. *BABYMETAL - LEGEND 1997 APOCALYPSE CONCERT* at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Japan. This concert was on the 21/12/2013, the concert was named (Legend 1997) because that was the year when Suzuka Nakamoto the lead singer was born on the 20/12/1997, so the show is in some way (SU-METAL's 16th birthday party) how did you celebrate your 16th birthday? I cannot remember mine, SU is not going to foget her 16th birthday. The whole show (Legend 1997) is all about BABYMETAL's final transition from being a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin and J-pop Idols in to an independent and a live performance metal band. The show started with an opening performance with Yui and Moa carrying neck braces to the music of 'Ave Maria', this is telling you who the statue is of at the back of the stage 'Mary Nazareth' (Mary of Nazareth) this opening performance comes to a conclusion when Yui and Moa offer up the neck braces to the statue and descend below the stage, to be replaced bye SU waring a neck brace standing on a plinth that rises half way up the statue, Yui and Moa then reappear back on stage and they go into there first song of the show. That song is a very techno dance remix of 'Headbanger' (Headbanger!! -Night of 15 mix-) but it was not remixed bye a fan Babymetal remixt it, if you ever watch it how you see it is how they performed it on stang, it will all so be very clear that they are lip-syncing and if you don't no anything about the world of pop ldols they nearly allwas lip-sync, now remember this concert is about there transition so this first song was entirely and unashamedly lip-synced to a backing track and they were not trying to hide it, I don't think that Yui or Moa ever tried to pretend they were singing they just smiled danced, and interacted with the fans even when they reappear back on stage at the start of this song the looks on there faces said "we are going to have fun with this", SU no the other hand loves to sing and the look on her face at the start of this song was more like "HO BOY lets get this over with", SU do's lip-sync with the mic but there are times were she moves the mic away and carries on singing and at one part the other dancers lift SU up arms outstretched mic in hand and you can hear her singing but SU's lips are sealed and the look on her face at this point is just saying "REALY", even the band that are on stage with them are fake thay are actors dressed in skeleton outfits called (The Babybones) and are pretending to play there instruments. So now you no about the first song what about the rest of the concert and no I not going through each song individually I will put a play list up of them for you, what I will say is that the techno dance remix of 'Headbanger' was the last time you would see SU-Metal, YuiMetal or MoaMetal lip-syncing, for the rest of this concert and every concert that they have done since the girls are singing LIVE, however the rest of this concert was done to backing tracks with The Babybones pretending to play, but the fans went hard at this concert and so did the girls it was one hell of a party that I would have loved to have bean at. The whole Ave Maria is quite a bit of build up for just this one song. Better in the whole concert context. One little thing that I love about this performance is that Su-metal gets to jump with the crowd for once instead of just Yui and Moa. The fact that the choreography is a remix of Headbanger's choreography is fun.

At first I was sceptical about the remix but listen to it a few times and it eventually grew on me. It's my favourite Headbanger version after the original live one. I agree with what Alan said about Maximum The Hormones. Babymetal on the other hand is like a catalogue of genre you can choose from. Band from Japan in general don't just confined themselves into a specific genre of metal, they venture out of the comfort zone and create something special.

What I find interesting about this: Maybe it‘s just me, but I think the choreography fits the original version much better than this one. Which means that apparently the choreography is pretty Metal in itself, which did come as somewhat of a surprise to me. Speaks for Mikiko, the choreographer.

Su starts as a pop queen then as the show continues she gives into the thoughts of becoming a metal Goddess as when she is crucified in the last song, Death, to be reborn. still this is a wild version of Headbanger. i dont like dubstep but this is cool.

For surprise quotient this is right up there with Tales of The Destinies. I'm glad Babymetal did this heavy techno version of Headbanger as a style exercise, but for me the effects are far too heavy and obscure Su's voice and it's all backing track, no Kami Band. For those reasons it is towards the bottom of my Babymetal performances list. I really like Yui's and Moa's choreography though.
