💕 ⚡ 🍑 / 🌅 I was at the Hollywood Palladium for the world premiere of this song back in 2017. More importantly, also in the audience that night were Su's Mom and Dad. Would have loved to see one of the two Budokan 2021 performances. They took it to a new level. Even though they had a full camera crew, apparently there were rights issues that prevented the pro-shot footage from the Palladium concert from being released. Fortunately we now have pro footage from the 2021 Budokan concerts, even if it's only included on the most expensive, "THE ONE" fanclub only complete edition. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' was on the international edition of the second album, 'Metal Resistance'. The domestic (Japanese) edition had 'Syncopation' instead.

Although it looks like a new song from previous album and we only got this proshot version from 2021, song it's actually from Metal Resistance released in 2016 and becomes one of the underrated tracks but hidden gem for some more fans, including me, it's one of my fav. This song was performed along with Syncopation in the middle of setlist during Doomsday III and IV, it got that epic and ethereal vibes and it shows a mature side in BM second album, Metal Resistance. Both songs are part of that album, only thing is FDTD was released for international market and Syncopation only locally, of course is another suggestion for next reaction. This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that. Thankfully they performed this twice in 2021 at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job. Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR although this one is a fan edit with another English translation, but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of four songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song. Love that dubstep or brostep breakdown, is a genre widely know and popular around 2015 thanks to Skrillex among others, he actually become very good friend with BM and even invite them to perform during a Skrillex show in Japan playing a remix version of Gimme Chocolate!! This is my favorite song on the album Metal Resistance. SU-METAL's voice takes me to another world.

Many people, even fans, did not expect BabyMetal to perform such a song. For fourteen years the girls have always surprised fans. Great reaction.

Great reaction, this song is beautiful and Babymetal's performance is just incredible. This has become one of my absolute favorites. A few things to consider to appreciate the song further (sorry, long comment lol): 1). Keep in mind: Su's English improved tremendously by 2021 (this performance). There are English versions of songs with solid grammar and clear meaning. Su has said she's worked on songs for over a year to perfect delivery, vocally, and of intended meaning. 2). If the above is true, then why the hell is this song, in English (no Japanese version) so damn hard to interpret?! Su constantly has the mic covering her mouth, so hard to read her lips (and the only other live is fan cams). The enunciation isn't quite clear, despite her being solid in English, and no official lyrics were ever released. 3). This leads me to believe they intended this on purpose, to allow for a listener to truly hear what they want. Here's my best "guess" as to what the lyrics are below, based on many internet discussions and my own thoughts: I won't give in (The Day is falling?) (The only way?) Some metal is a machine gun barrage. Many Babymetal songs are surgical strikes. This one always gets me in the heart.👊🏽⚡️🦊🤘🏾

Great & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This song has been performed only 3 times to date. As Rick Wagner commented below, a limited number of fans who were at Hollywood Palladium on June 16, 2017 had been privileged to experience this song for 4 years. On February 16, 2021, when the intro started, everyone at Budokan (including me) was firstly shocked and gradually god excited understanding what was going to happen. At the end of the song, however, everyone got confused with what he / she witnessed because it was too surprising and mesmerizing. On the following day (Feb.17), the audiences came to the venue expecting the setlist would remain the same and FDTD would be played again. Once this song started many of them (including me) just stared at the stage without moving as if they were trying to burn the performance into their retinas. Su-Metal did it perfectly. "In the end ! (or In the air!)" Divine voice. And Moa and Momoko did perfect choreo like angels smoothly dancing around the goddess. Oh! I actually saw and listened to it twice for sure, but still "was it real?" (Even after reconfirmed it in Blu-ray video)

SU's high pitch voice was amazing, and the part where SU and MOA sang alternately was also great. Impressive!🦊

love this song dude, and for many years we had no good idea of what the lyrics were until this performance because of the clarity of Su's voice without all the studio tricks, the lyrics you read were the old understanding of them based entirely on sounds like that word, but the updated and probably 99% more accurate are in this video subtitles, watch it again with the closed captions on and see for yourself how more accurate the words are than the one you read.

FDTD is an interesting one, because it's one of only four Babymetal songs that is entirely in English. It was on the international release of the Metal Resistance album, while the Japanese edition had the song Syncopation (which is another amazing song you should check out). Kobametal (Babymetal's manager and producer) thought that Syncopation was "too Japanese" for international audiences, so he put FDTD on the international release. In spite of this, FDTD has only been performed live three times, which is why the crowd reacted when the drop happened as it had never been performed in Japan before.

Nice one - and a very rare live performance. They have only played this live 3 times - first time was at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017 and then twice more at the 10 Budokan shows in 2021. Some people didn't realise those first few notes were Su-metal singing until they finally saw the live performance video from Budokan. The lyrics have never been published and they are not that easy to make out, so the lyrics you had are simply somebody's best guess, there have been a few 'best guesses' on the lyrics ... but nothing was lost in the translation since it was all in English. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' is one of only two songs they have done that are all in English and without a Japanese version ('Believing' from the album released in 2023 is the other ... they do have two more songs that have original half and half Japanese/English and full English versions, those being 'The ONE' and 'Elevator Girl'). Not sure what was going on with the audio towards the end of the video - it was like it had been recorded on an old cassette and the tape stretched.

IMO the greatest metal ensemble ever. Su is the most powerful metal singer today. The Kami band is next level.
