On the left (at beginning of song): Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno, born 6/20/1999), the lead singer in the middle is Su-Metal (Suzaka Nakamoto, born 12/20/1997) and the young lady on the right is Moametal (Moa Kikuchi, born on 7/4/1999). The music video for Gimme Chocolate was filmed December 21, 2013 during the first live performance of the song at Makuhari Messe as part of the concert Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai (Su-metal's birthday).

Babymetal discovery date for me was April 2016. I knew nothing of "Reaction" videos at that time, otherwise I would have recorded one. Oh, well. Demonstrative facial expressions barely touch the surface in describing my reaction to things that really surprise me. I listen to all varieties of music, and metal is in my past as far as the late 70's. Within moments, and I do mean mere moments that I fell in love with everything Babymetal. The girls, music, presentation, band and concept are phenomenal! It is a pleasure to see other people's reactions to Babymetal. It always brings a smile to my face. Kitsune up! And...................... Forward unto the Metal Resistance!

I'd say this first reaction is pretty typical of most. After one gets past the initial shock confusion & bewilderment & even anger lol. I was one of the elitist assholes that thought this was complete crap. But I decided to see how far the rabbit hole goes. Which was probably a mistake now that I think about it haha. BabyMetal is like oxygen to my soul now. I literally have to get up in the morning. Have my coffee and a good dose of Babymetal to start my morning. My fate was sealed once I saw them live. In a way I understand why Give Me Chocolate is still used here. However it's not really fair anymore considering how far they've come. Megitsune i agree with others. Karate, The One, Road To Residence among others. :)

The main singer Su-metal is currently 18 Moametal and Yuimetal are 17-17. They have millions of fans, they had a show with the singer of Judas Priest (Rob Halford) too. They have sold out shows for like 60-70k people and such. They are huge! React to Road of Resistance, Karate and Megitsune! ^^

typical reaction for a 1st timer who just hear babymetal XD it's a good reaction..keep it up..the middle name is Suzuka Nakamoto aka SUmetal the oldest probably she's 16 yrs oldwhen that video got filmed then the others on left YUI Mizuno aka YUI-metal 14yrs old and on the right side with dimples is MOA Kikuchi aka MOA-metal also 14years old and that video was 2 years old ago so they are much more of a lady now...they are very famous especially on Europe part also on North America..and they just ended their 3rd world tour this last September with an average of 110,000 people at tokyo dome for 2 days consecutively..please react to more of their songs especially their Live ones..but i recommend 1st the song "iine" XD it'll give you a roller coaster ride

Great reaction! I had basically the same reaction, so I really sympathize with your response. My slight difference is that as soon as it was over I already knew that I loved it. But throughout the song I kept thinking, "This can't possibly be real, can it? WTF is this?!" At first I thought the "Atatatata" parts were dumb and annoying, and I thought I would hate the song. I wasn't so much into heavy metal anymore either, so I thought, "Yuck, it sounds like crap." But then the chorus starts and Su-metal's singing, and Yuimetal and Moametal are dancing that awesome dance, and the music becomes a bit more poppy and euphonic, and that totally transformed my impression. By the end of the song, I knew I loved it. Today, Gimme Choco is probably my favourite Babymetal song (and I love all their songs, so that's saying a lot). The song you started with, Gimme Choco, is the song most people get exposed to first. It's from 2014, but it's also already 4 years into Babymetal's history. It's amazing that they were performing good, solid songs even as early as 2010 when they were only 11 and 12 years old, such as "Doki Doki Morning". If you want to see their progression, start with that one. Then check out the video for the song "IINE!" (that's two letters 'i' at the beginning, and it's pronounced ee-nay). There are also other videos from the songs of their first album, most notably the videos for "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" and "Megitsune". If you follow this progression, you'll be following basically the same path I took to learning about them. (And that's just from the first album. In April, they released their second album, and it's packed with great songs, too. Sadly, only one or two major videos for it yet, though.) What's even *more* crazy is that since Gimme Choco, where you (and I, too) were surprised at the large crowd having a great time, Babymetal have become massively *more* popular, and not just in Japan, but around the world. They've just completed their most recent (second, I think? maybe third?) world tour, and had their biggest success with their finale concert at the Tokyo Dome arena, which is perhaps the biggest venue in Japan. They played for two nights, and it was sold-out both nights, to 55,000 fans each night. And just a couple of days ago, they signed with Warner Bros. studio in the US to have an hybrid live-action/animated series based on the band. It's really astonishing to see such a bizarre combination of musical genres become so monumentally popular and successful. The whole Babymetal phenomenon is so well done and frankly it's just fucking awesome! lol :-) The more you learn about them, the more you'll be impressed, I guarantee. Everyone involved, the girls, the backing band (the Kami band), the manager/producer, the musical composers behind the scenes, and even the genius choreographer of the dancing, are all genuinely talented and wonderful people. I really still can't believe this even exists... but it does! And it's awesome! Have fun discovering more about Babymetal! :-) (PS: There are also some similar bands (nothing quite like Babymetal, though) which you might discover soon. My favourite is one called Death Rabbits. They have some crazy/bizarre (and funny) videos on KZfaq, too. The lead singer's, Emi-chan's, voice is really amazing! They're a bit more light-hearted and use more vocal harmonies than Babymetal. They've also just released a second album, and it's really great.)

I'm 46 original Metallica fan and I love to rock to Babymetal! If you like calmer music gonna recommend Fleetwood Mac check out The Dance live concert or their Rumors album. If just a song try Gold Dust Woman or The Chain.
