The story of the video was the guy with the hair and beard represented the spirit of heavy metal. When this song was written (it was the second song BABYMETAL performed but was released as their third or fourth single) rock and metal had a shrinking audience in Japan and was being forced more and more underground as most of the air time on TV and radio was dominated by J-pop and Idol music or similar. The hairy guy (metal) was shown being bullied, having his hair cut and guitar smashed by the people in the bling who represented pop and mainstream music. He saw painted on the rocks the message "stand up metal" and was finally revealed as one of the Babybones guitarists having stood up for what he believed in. The lyrics of this song are particularly well written and meaningful. This is at Sonisphere in the UK in 2014 and was their first time and their first major event outside of Asia. They were 16 and only just turned 15. They had originally been booked to play a small side stage or tent in front of maybe a couple of thousand people, but their video for 'Gimme Chocolate' had gone viral, so there was some noise about this weird band from Japan and the show they had booked in London for a couple of days after this festival had sold out almost immediately (and had been moved to a bigger venue in London and that sold out in no time as well). The Sonisphere organisers bumped BABYMETAL up to open the main stage on the Saturday morning. They didn't know what to expect but were warned the UK crowd had been known to throw bottles and worse at bands they didn't like. They took to the stage in their red tutus and were faced by 50-60,000 UK metalheads - most of them didn't have a clue who BABYMETAL were. They played about 30 minutes, just 5 songs and the crowd went from being very puzzled at the start to having the biggest mosh pits of the weekend and shouting for "one more song" at the end ... But for this song I definitely second opinions by Rick Wagner, Grington300 300 and other viewers. Please see their performance of this song (simply "IDZ") at Sonisphere UK 2014. That is different and I guarantee that you will be moved emotionally by 3 little soldiers and a squad behind them.
