'Kagerou' is one of their more recent songs being from the third album released 2019, but they were playing it the year before on the 2018 tour. At that time the title was unknown but was seen on a set list as 'Tattoo' and Su-metal (the lead singer) was performing it as a solo without Moametal and the third girl dancing (they had three 'Avengers' taking turns dancing in the third spot since the start of the 2019 tour after the original third member, Yuimetal, left in October 2018 after a 12 month absence for undisclosed health reasons). The musicians in this one are the Kami Band of the West - American musicians who supported BABYMETAL on their extended US tour of 2019 and the UK and Europe tour of 2020. The Kami Band of the East (Japanese musicians) have otherwise been supporting BABYMETAL in all live shows since early 2014 and they played a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows from October 2012. It is unfortunate that the only song so many people know is 'Gimme Chocolate'. That was the video that went viral (mainly because of the WTF reactions it would get) and it is a great song at live shows, the crowd always goes mad for that one, but it really doesn't show even a fraction of what they are all about and how much more they are capable of. They have about 50 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will also mix in many other musical styles and genres with the metal. Some are good hard metal, others (like 'Gimme Chocolate') lean towards their Jpop roots and they do everything in between. You could pick any song for another reaction, they will surprise you every time. I'd suggest another early song next - 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More, For Ever) live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK - their first major event outside of Asia when they were unknown and aged 16 and only just turned 15.

Great & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I believe this is a compilation from 3 shows (The Forum USA, 2019 + Saitama 2019 + Makuhari 2020). Su-Metal is singing about jealousy against someone using a metaphor of heat haze = "Kagerou". The hash emotion is shimmering from her inner blaze, and it seems to me that her emotion will not erupt but turn into magma. It's scary😱 . The girls are grownup ladies now without doubt.

⚡ 💕 / 🌡️ 🔥 Su and Moa have talked about presenting a more adult version of "Kawaii Metal" as they get older. They often give 'Elevator Girl' as an example, but I think this song is better. They've also mentioned that it took a while to get used to the more agressive Metal sound of their Western Kami Band. IMO, this is the best pure rocker they've given Su since 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!'. I've loved this one ever since it was a Su-metal solo song called 'Tattoo' on the 2018 tour. The choreography is a lot of fun. Both Su's freestyling in the original version, and the living heat wave with Su, Moa + a support dancer that it is now. Of course most folks were pretty happy to see "The Kamis From the West" with solos. That was Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio on guitars, Clint Tustin on bass and Anthony Barone on drums. This compilation footage had both Momoko Okazaki and Riho Sayashi as supporting dancers. And of course Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) as the core of BABYMETAL.

Nice reaction. Very few Japanese bands are as famous outside of Japan as Babymetal is. That's starting to change and Babymetal wouldn't want it any other way. Back around 2015 they worked with "Cool Japan" which was a government program from Japan. The program wanted to bring attention to other things Japan had to offer the world. Babymetal being adorable and doing something completely new were perfect for it. And at that time what better way to showcase metal from Japan than Babymetal. In their early days Babymetal wanted to introduce more girls to metal music. When they started they didn't even know what metal music was. They were 10-12 years old and singing JPOP idol music at the time so that's understandable. They said they finally understood heavy metal while opening for Metallica in Japan. While most folks are never going to get that experience. Babymetal has become a great way to get folks interested in heavy metal. They have used just about every version of metal there is and mixed it with many other styles of music. So there's something for everyone. Yet somehow they maintain their unique Babymetal sound.
