'Karate' was the lead single for their second album released in 2016. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - as with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards.

They're a elite set of musicians and among the best you can find in Japan. All of them are males, of course they got their own names but those never went on public officially, except for one who is credited for certain songs at studio album. They rotate so not always you'll see the same members, especially the guitarrists. They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. R.I.P.🙌 - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. Their latest special version got the Western Kami Band playing (all of them none Japanese of course) and introducing this new Metalverse with a lovely surprise. This was live at Download Festival 2016 and as you can see it was raining like there's no tomorrow, i let someone else explain the funny story of Download, even the producer and creator KobaMetal had to mope the stage to prevent the girls got some accidents, is risky when the stage is wet. This is the second time BABYMETAL hit the Download Festival stage, their first time was the year before, as clandestines indeed 😂. Yeah, the guy behind the Festival didn't like them at all and thought they weren't good enough, so they were not invited, but since they were touring UK at the time, Dragonforce offered them a spot, few minutes on stage to play with them. Then, in 2016, they opened their World Tour at SSE Wembley Arena, London, a respectful gift 🎁 to all their UK fans and their support, and Probyn had to concede. They've been recurring guest since then😊. In just two years, we went from the clueless crowd at Sonisphere, screaming "we want more" at the end of their performance, to this crowd singing along Karate 😅. Yeah, BABYMETAL and BAND-MAID are quite different, different genres and stories, both quite fascinating, with a common trait, very few would have bet a $ on their success, but luckily enough someone did and here we are 😊. 🤘🦊⚡️

This IS the Golden Age of Babymetal. The Yui Era, when Yuimetal and the Kami Band's Mikio Fujioka were all together. Legendary! Watch their live performances when they're in Japan. Thanks from Japan, the homeland of BABYMETAL 有難う💛。As you may have noticed, it was raining very hard. Equipment on the stage were covered and floor was all over wet. Three girls could have aborted the performance and gone back to a comfortable hotel rooms but they didn't because the huge crowd was waiting and no one left the venue. The girls never modified their choreo even on the slippery stage (You can actually see Su-Metal slipping lightly at 05:07 in your video. ). On the contrary, Yui and Moa threw themselves onto the wet floor and Kamis moved their bodies hard (BOH, bassist, jumped) with the girls to cheer up everyone there. Those scenes moves me to tears, like you experienced. In an interview, Su said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the bad weather. She felt very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever. If you watch their Japanese mega concerts, you expect the crowd to go nuts and follow the girls lead... But it's fun seeing my friends jaws drop when a sea of western metal fans standing in the rain and singing along with 3 Japanese girls. That is priceless. 🤘🦊🤘

Babymetal is a heavy metal idol group. Idols in Japan have the composition of singing and dancing. SuMetal's role is to be the singer and leader of Babymetal, but YuiMetal and MoaMetal are to dance and be the backing vocals. However, they also perform a very important function in an idol group: they control the crowd.

Good reaction. The history of the download festival, with Babymetal, is, to say the least, curious. In 2014 they played, for the first time outside of an Asian festival, at the Sonisphere in England, triumphing by the way. The producer of the download festival saw them, but said that they were very good, but that the download festival was not a place for them, so they would never play there. In short, he vetoed them. In 2015 they played at the Dragon Force festival, which linked a friendship with Babymetal (I think they had been opening acts for Dragon Force, although I'm not sure), for whom they arranged one of their songs "Road of Resistence". The veto angered them and they decided to bring them as special guests to their participation and they played a song with them, thus challenging the festival producer. The thing is that Babymetal consolidated itself during 2015 and in 2016 they were already headlining along with other great bands.

Really nice reaction, great energy. I'm hardly the biggest expert for Babymetal but I can tell you a few things. Mikio was the guitarist on stage left. He died in 2018 from a tragic fall from a tower while star gazing. The BM song "Shine" is felt to be a tribute to Mikio. The names you read are just stage names eg Su-metal's street name is Susuka Nakamoto. This festival has been called the "downpour" festival and I think it's so great that everybody stayed, soaking wet to see Babymetal. Just a thought if you continue to react to Babymetal-hope you do-they are known for their live performances-this one a perfect case in point. They have some great mv's but to get the whole Babymetal experience having that back and forth with the crowd can't be beat. Oh I may be off by a year but at this show I believe Su was 18 and Yui and Moa would have still been 16. No way could I ever have shown their confidence striding in front of a crowd like that. The ladies always display their confidence and courage.
