This performance, which fans call 'Moabanger', was at Legend M (the M stands for Moa) which took place to celebrate her 20th birthday in her home town of Nagoya, hence the special performance of Headbanger with her taking the main vocals for the second half of the song. You're right that Moa sings beautifully in her own right, and it would be nice to see her given more chances to take the lead vocal, but when she has been asked about it in the past, she has said that she doesn't like the pressure of being lead vocalist and prefers her current role and focusing mainly on her dancing. Whether that is her real opinion, or is simply the official Babymetal line she is towing is anyone's guess. OTFGK There is also a performance of Headbanger with Yui on the main vocal from 2014, which was also to celebrate her birthday, but it was at a much smaller show and there is no pro-shot version of that one, just a few fancams (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mqd8dc9mld2sYas.html ). Had Yui stayed with Babymetal until her 20th birthday, I'm sure she would have gotten a Legend Y show in Yokohama (which is in her home prefecture of Kanagawa) and gotten to sing Headbanger like Moa did. If the reports are correct and Momoko is installed as the third official member of Babymetal at the upcoming shows on April 1st and 2nd in Yokohama, there is a high chance that we will get 'Momokobanger', since Momoko turned 20 just a couple of weeks ago.

Look for "Yuimetal headbanger"...she did it too. They use to do it when it was their birthdays.

Moa chan ❤ The Legend M show was friggin amazing not only performance wise but also the spectacle of the show, the stage setup, the set list, the band, the girls, everything was spectacular. It was held to celebrate Moa’s 20th birthday which is why the lyrics for the song were changed from 15 to 20. Moa tried to mimic Su’s death stare but couldn’t help herself in the end and gave us that super kawaii little smirk ❤. Moa said in an interview that she doesn’t want more major singing lines and that she is happy with her role as scream and dance. So there is that. Nice reaction muffin-metal, keep em coming! 🤘🔥🦊

Legend M was Moametal's 20th birthday celebration with the special concerts in her home town - 20 is the official "coming of age" in Japan (unless it has changed to 18 more recently?), so it was a very special occasion. 'Headbanger' is originally about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday (15 being another special age in Japan as that is when compulsory education ends and they are having to take that first step into life deciding on a career or further education). They changed the lyrics here from "... this special night of my 15 ..." to 20 (that first happened at Legend S in Su's home town Hiroshima in December 2017 to celebrate her 20th).. At concerts on or near their 15th birthdays in 2014 Su handed the mic and stand to Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) in exactly the same way as she handed it to Moa in this one and they each took over lead vocals ... only fan cam videos exist for those. Moa has a lovely voice, but she doesn't want to be the lead vocalist. I am just as impressed with how Su steps into her place in the choreo and never misses a beat.

People went ape shit because it so rarely happens when she sings a solo. She is happy doing exactly what she's doing letting Su-metal lead the vocals (she absolutely loves listening to Su-metal sing) and has no interests in performing entire solos by herself. People really need to stop pushing for more Moa solos or vocals. It's not what she wants to do. And yes, the delight you felt is felt by all of the fans. It's a treat to go to a concert close to her birthday because you might just get a gift from lovely Moametal. At this point in their lives, they already had been singing and dancing for almost 9 years with Sakura Gakuin and Babymetal. So the girls are very well experienced with singing and dancing at the same time. The Avenger in this video is Kano Fujihara, who also was part of Sakura Gakuin. I believe she was almost 15 years old at this concert.

Devilish evil smirk on the archangel's face ! Moabanger reminds me that Lucifer is a fallen angel 🤔 In two-day show in Legend-M (July 2019), "Moabanger" was the 12th song in the setlist. Moa sang it in a stable manner without getting short of breath after exhausting dancing for 11 songs + the first part of Headbanger until Su handed the mic to Moa. Only a huge amount of exercise like an athlete enables a girl to get such a big cardio capacity on top of training as a dancer. Her arms look dainty but I saw several photos showing her biceps brachii and brachioradialis in good shape that I admire as a workout lover 😄 。 She is another monster. No, lovely Moanstar.

The thing about Moa is in literally ANY other idol group she would be the lead/Ace. Any other. She's that good it's only because Su is, well, Su that Moa isn't. Su's own sister, Himeka (Himetan) who was an idol and could sing VERY good, has said that no one sings like her. That's just the talent set on this group.

Also I do not remember fans being split on Karate as most fans consider it one of BabyMetal’s best songs (especially LIVE as all BabyMetal performances should be heard instead of MV’s - my opinion of course).
