They become very good friends with Sabaton during live tour and they were the support band, later Joakim was a special guest during "Meta Taro" live at Dark Night Carnival 2018, during an interview Joakim revealed a possible new collaboration with BM, those words and wishes were real with the Sabaton's Europe Tour 2023 as a special guests, many fans were expecting this could be one of the songs performing together, but sadly that didn't happen. Oh MAJINAI is a folk metal song, following the spirit of Meta Taro, is part of their 3rd album Metal Galaxy and following that theme going around the world and gathering metal and rhythms from all over the galaxy, they're telling us a story about a metal paradise where you can't get in with an adult mindset or else you'll be curse with the spell dancing the "shakariki mosh", that cossack dance style you saw them dancing. This is a good reason for kitsune buddies to hug each other while dancing and drinking a beer 🍻 This is a live compilation from Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 and Budokan 2021. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the third backup dancer (avenger) and the East Kami Band once again as well in all of these shows at Budokan 2021. Next suggestion: - Syncopation live at Fox Festival 2017, i would prefer Tokyo Dome 2016 but that one is sometimes heavily blocked. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥

Probably not among my top favorite songs, but it's Su-metal's favorite one from the Metal Galaxy album and that's enough for me. I have seen Sabaton live two times, the first one was in 2006 opening for DragonForce and Edguy (my favorite band back then). The second one was last year during their tour in Europe with BABYMETAL (and Lordi) opening for them.

To me the most fun choreo after Catch Me If You Can. Seeing the girls smile the whole time always lifts the mood.

Who would ever think of having a Norwegion sing in Japanese while 3 Japanese girls dance an Irish jig to a Finnish Polka??? Pure genius! 😂 On a more technical note since this is a compilation video from the Legend Metal Galaxy shows and the Budokan 2021 shows, the Avenger in the clips with the long stage with wide screen behind (Legend Metal Galaxy) dancing with Su and Moa was Riho Sayashi, and the Avenger on the octogonal stage in the center of the arena (Budokan) was Momoko Okazaki (now Momometal). 🤘🦊🤘 Edit: If you watch the official MV, Kano Fujihara will be the Avenger dancing in the 3rd spot.

Before babymetal started there world tour last year They open for Sabaton on their European tour from April into May 2023 they've been friends for some time since Sabaton opened for them on babymetals dark Knight carnival show in Fall of 2018 just before Halloween

Great reaction (both times).😁 Sabaton opened for BABYMETAL at their Dark Night Carnival concerts at the end of October 2018 - Joakim came on stage during BABYMETAL's performance of 'Meta Taro' along with Darth Vader from the other support group Galactic Empire. It must have been about then that the BABYMETAL team asked Joakim to record his parts for this song ... he said they nearly destroyed his voice asking him to go harder and harder. Last summer BABYMETAL joined Sabaton's tour of Europe. Sadly they didn't perform this song live together - that would have been a spectacle.

Sabaton opened for BABYMETAL in Japan in late October 2018 for a few arena concerts. It's around that time that Joakim went into a studio in Osaka to record his vocal tracks for 'Oh! MAJINAI'. They kept making him repeat this song, over and over, with more and more intensity. : ) The song came out on the 'Metal Galaxy' album a year later. Su really seems to like their quirky Folk Metal songs. She's mentioned that 'Oh! MAJINAI' is a favorite song on the 'Metal Galaxy' album, and 'Meta Taro' was a big favorite of hers from 'Metal Resistance'. I'm sure they all had a lot of fun learning the choreography.

After the world premiere of this song on Jan. 25, 2020 (I was there !), Su and Moa complained jokingly that every audience had not seen the girls dancing but watched gigantic Joakim on the backdrop 😄 . "Oh! Majinai" has dual meanings. Japanese word "omajinai" simply means a good luck charm or magical spell. But if you separate the word into two parts you will find different meaning. "Maji nai" means "seriously impossible" or "absolutely no", the phrase used by young people. This song is a little bit controversial. Many European fans are claiming the origin of this song. Irish, Russian, Swedish, Polish, Czech and Finnish. From a neutral position as a Japanese, I can say this is Europe-ish 🤔 .

For me this is the BABYMETAL song that I like the least out of their whole catalogue. That means I‘d probably give it something like a 7/10. But that‘s one of the cool things about them, their music covers such a wide spectrum that every fan has a different ranking. Yet in the end end most of us agree that pretty much everything is awesome. And once I take the live presentation into account, my 7 easily becomes a 9. It’s great fun!

The base melody for this song comes from a popular Finnish Folk song from the 1940's called "Levan Polkka". It was again popularized in the mid 1990's by the group "Loituma". The song then had a resurgence in 2006 as a Meme called "Leek Spin Girl" and then again in 2007 with a version by the Otomania Vocaloid singer 'Hatsune Miku'. Majinai = magic spell. Saw Sabaton last year when they were touring with Babymetal as support. Poor Babymetal had to perform their show surrounded by the barbed wire and gun emplacements that was part of Sabaton's set! Yes, Joakims experience was a bit disturbt. They always wanted it harter and with more Power. He was already worried if he would be able to sing the next Day. ÖTer he recognized that These technicians were only able to Check their own materials and that other people would be responsible for the final Mix. It was all based on lokal swedish dances that Moa wanted to do. Well we see the result.
