Good reaction, great to see you both again! 3rd girl with Su-metal & Moametal is Kano Fujihara, she was 15 years old when this vid was shot. BABYMETAL factoid: all 3 girls were Students Council President of Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy); Su in 2012, Moa in 2014, & Kano in 2019. Sakura Gakuin is a Japanese idol girl group formed in 2010 by the Amuse talent agency. Arigatou! 🦊🤘

This was June 29th 2019, so Kano was still 14 (though only two months away from 15) at the time. :)

Don't Think, Feel. It's A Happy New Bon-Dance :D

Great to see you back with BABYMETAL! It took me a few listens to get used to the idea that they included a Thai rapper (which made me aware of my own closed mindedness), but it quickly became apparent that it‘s just an immensely fun song. It‘s meant to be a party song, and how could you not feel an urge to sing and dance watching this? I have only been at their smaller shows in Europe so far, I can‘t even imagine how insane it must be at those huge shows in Japan. I don‘t know about the specific hand movements you mentioned, but it would be totally typical for BABYMETAL / Mikiko to incorporate some traditional Thai dance moves into the choreography. The song is about Papaya salad, they hired a Thai rapper, there‘s a typical Thai instrumental playing in the background during the second half of his part - it would totally make sense to feature some Thai dance moves as well. As it‘s often the case, the lyrics might not be as superficial as they may seem at first glance. The colourful mix of sweet and spicy ingredients in Papaya salad are supposed to symbolize the various ups and downs in life, I believe. If you‘d like to hear more from their latest album, I think you might find „Shanti Shanti Shanti“ interesting as well. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbeeesKFnNHGpI0.html

Great to see you back as always enjoyed your reaction to BabyMetal. The video to this came out just before i went to see them . So some fans had towels to swing. I was just swinging my tour tshirt . Agree with you Su just getting better all the time . As for Su leaving 😱 noooooo ! .

The song is basically a celebration of the variety of summer festivals in Japan. Despite being an imported fruit (it's native to the Americas), Papaya is a popular fruit eaten at those festivals, from what I understand.

Welcome back to BABYMETAL. I think Rick Wagner has explained about the song and F Hero with his papaya salad inspired rap already. You mentioned their hand movements in the choreo and yes they are those used in traditional Thai dance I believe. They have been doing a lot with their hands (I think Moa even mentioned in an interview about hand movements in the choreo and how they had worked hard to get everything right for the songs on this album). For 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' they have some very Indian inspired choreo and hand movements.

MOAMETAL's choreography is the hand movements of the Japanese Bon Odori (summer festival). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a5djks2msr-6Z4E.html
Hey! Nice to see you again! Good reaction, thanks! This song always makes me happy. I often use it to get my spirit up when I don't feel good and it never fails. How they can dance like this for an entire concert? I guess that was a rhetorical question but being a marathoner myself I feel qualified to answer that anyway: training, training and then more training. I suspect the girls follow a very "nice" training routine hehe... See you next time!

Matsuri-da! Matsuri-da! Spicy summer song. Crazy summer dance. Make some noise! Dance! It's party time! PAPAYA! The ultimate summer party song! Yes, like Papaya salad, you have the sweet and the spicy, the ups and downs in life, and as Rick Wagner said, you need to mix them to make the salad. So, mix up that salad and all you boys and girls feel those spicy crazy feelings and let them out by screaming and dancing and having a summer party! Definitely a hype song! Kitsune up!\m/

Looks like your Japanese partner is not really into BabyMetal. She does not show much enthusiasm, just giving you company out of politeness. My daughter is 27 much older than these girls and she’s Japanese ( half) I’m a foreigner but my kids can’t even speak English so I do know quite a lo their etiquettes.

Some advice about BABYMETAL reactions: tl;dr: Don't use compilations for BABYMETAL, we have a better solution. Please don't rely solely on videos that are on KZfaq (mainly compilations); they're not meant to be used for reactions as the mix of concerts and generally bad editing can make it confusing for those new to BABYMETAL. Also, you won't get the full BABYMETAL experience with these. Some people think they are safer for reactions, but they're not. They may get past the bot initially, but you still stand the chance of your video being blocked later and the possibility of having copyright strikes. Some fans made a selection of "best" performances for each song; I would suggest using it for future BABYMETAL reactions. Here is the link : docs.google.com/document/d/1DqPsavocgGvCyZfUHvrkgJ5KZMaMkmMgjy2UxNNG96E/edit# You should note though, that your video will almost definitely be blocked if these are included in your video and that you will need to do what we call "link & sync". It's very easy and made easier with the help of Reactor Hub, a tool made for helping avoid blocks etc. We made a short tutorial on how to use it : drive.google.com/open?id=1X6hN2BdyKzFmVN9XMEo2M89hsKY0B-bnnHRVVMNY13w Using that you are safe from blocked videos and even future copyright strikes, since no copyright material is included in your video :). There is even a discord for Reactor Hub if you need any help. I'm hoping you will have fun with BABYMETAL in future reactions :).
