That was Queen Su - aged just 16 and giving that performance, incredible. This is possibly the darkest of their songs lyrically. She is caught in a repeating nightmare running away from she doesn't know who or what and with no hope of escape. In the quiet part she is hiding in a fountain and finally giving up to her fate but asking her pursuer "If I am to die will you not at least reveal yourself and show me your form first". The Kami Band - magnificent as always. Strictly speaking that piece should be titled 'The Mischiefs of the Metal Gods'. in order of solos - Leda Cygnus, Takayoshi Ohmura, Boh (6 string bass God) and Hideki Aoyama on drums.

Rondo is a musical form of a repeating chorus while each verse is given a different musical treatment. And the song is of a repeating nightmare of a demon or monster that cannot be seen. In the quiet verse she resigns to her fate but bravely asks that the demon show its form. My favorite performance by Suu, although there are many to love. And I just adore the image created on stage of the music box dancer waltzing on the platform with the musicians below on the slowly rotating stage.

It's was already epic, and THEN Su rises up from beneath the stage. Without just cranking her volume she can still be heard through the heavy drums, bass and guitars. This one hasn't been on the setlist lately. They performed it a few times in 2016 including Tokyo Dome, only once in 2017 for the Black Fox Festival, but not since.

The fact that she can sing like this and so clean live is a testament to how talented she is. Incredible! Not to discount the band either, they are super talented musicians. The intro is one of the grooviest things I've heard. Baby metal are awesome.

It is amazing how SU-METALs clear voice can easily penetrate the wall of distorted metal sound from the Kami band. Not only that: I can confirm that SU-METALs voice can also easily penetrate physical metal walls. I was at the BABYMETAL concert in Bologna Italy a few years ago and I go away from the queue a short while to get food. When I get back to the venue from the stage side BABYMETAL is doing a soundcheck. SU-METALSs voice sounded so clear through the wall, it was like it was made from thin rice-paper, not the solid corrugated steel it was actually made from. Again, amazing...!

Oh man, this song is so good! The melody is so hauntingly beautiful and the atmosphere is so dense you can cut it with a knife. I noticed both of you squinted your eyes (I'm not sure if that's the correct English word, I hope you know what I mean) and I did the same during the chorus, because Su's voice singing this awesome melody hits so straight in the heart that it almost hurts. At least that's how I feel. Awesome performance!

Rondo of Nightmares is very difficult song for counting rhythms. It's not simple waltz, but Rondo. In KZfaq, Takayoshi Ohmura teach us how count and play the guitar 🎸. I always feel that I can not understand how, and I always feel Su-metal is Genius.

When Su was young, she would get in trouble at home for singing too loudly. The band had its genesis when Koba saw Sue perform with another two girls in a pop act, and thought her power was wasted on pop. And he thought up Babymetal to showcase her voice.

Her voice has so much emotion even grown men are not afraid to say that song gets us every time. for a singer to bring emotion thru a video is amazing but that is why she is the best. yes the bassist is one of the best in my opinion but I am bias since I think everything about this band is the best. they still keep improving and Su is maturing and I enjoy it every minute.

Why Moa and Yui aren't on stage here is because they're taking a break. Su has a couple of songs that she sings on her own, while Moa and Yui have their own as well. Moa and Yui perform as Black Babymetal (what? A group within a group!? What a concept!!), in which they perform some of their heavier songs. Song 4, Onedari Daisuken, GJ, and Sis Anger are songs they do while Su is taking a break. And think about the contrast: The youngest 2 girls in the group performing the heaviest songs in the band. Something you wouldn't expect. But Rondo of Nightmare and Akatsuki are Su solo songs.

A full bore Babymetal show can be upwards of 1 1/2 to 2 hours long. Su performing solo allows Moa and Yui to take a break, get hydrated, scarf down some pizza and do whatever they do off stage. When Moa and Yui are performing as Black Babymetal it allows Su to take a break and do whatever she does off stage. As we all know, they all use up a hell of a lot of energy during a performance and this is one way they fight fatigue. A suggestion...
