You realize you smile the whole time you watch the girls, that is the source of their power. They are humble sweet girls and truly love the fans. A lot of us were gatekeepers in the past, a band like BabyMetal just smashes your preconceptions and opens your mind. I used to hate dancing, but I quickly realized I just hate dancing to suck music.

Welcome back and thanks for an excellent reaction. You are beginning to understand, BABYMETAL is the whole package and the visuals in their live performances are a big part of what they are about - they really do put on a show, they don't just do concerts in the way you (and most of us before we found them) are used to - it is an experience and when you are in the audience you become part of that. This was from the Budokan in Tokyo in 2021 - they played 10 nights there over the course of the first 3 or 4 months as a big part of their 10th anniversary celebration ... unfortunately because of the pandemic they had to adhere to some very strict rules and the arena was limited to half capacity with everybody wearing double masks and staying by their seats. They still managed to put on 10 great shows and everybody there had a great time. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from the British speed/power metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. I was going to say I bet your wife picked 'Mirror Mirror' if you're a Prog Metal guitarist - and I see in the comments that is the one (I love the rest of the album as well but that is the most Prog song on it). That being the case I will also suggest 'Tales of the Destinies' from the second album. That has only been played live once - at the Tokyo Dome with a sold out 55k crowd in 2016.

I tell you, it's not often we get a Babymetal reacter with such an understand about himself and how much they've changed over the course of years of experience to build an open mind that no type of music should be put into a box and shut away. Babymetal is outside the box as you've discovered, and as you go down this journey, The One will ALWAYS be here to answer any of your questions with patience and understanding. As that is sometimes what it takes to understand Babymetal with their large discography. I mean, they must be doing something right to still be going even stronger after 13 years. Many people who have discovered them later on as the girls became adults tend not to go back to their roots, but to go back to their humble roots will give you a much greater appreciation of what the girls had to go through breaking new ground at such a young age. As you probably have read already in previous comments I'm sure, the girls were doing all this while still attending their regular schools as that is what was deemed important. I hope you continue this journey, your mind will open even more as you listen to songs that hit other genres and how the songs are written and put together. Hence why we say every song is different from one another. It was a pleasure to watch your reaction and see and hear your mind articulate your thoughts and feelings of your own discovery and journey. Keep up the good work.

@@musikbyjh Can't wait! Gimme Chocolate is an acquired taste. Although it is a treat for alot of fans when they perform it now, which doesn't happen too often, it's a great call back as it really doesn't matter what song they are singing, it's the fact that the girls are having a REALLY good time performing it for the audience. And don't get me wrong when some of us call them girls, because we've been following them ever since they were little girls in the original parent idol group Sakura Gakuin, and the term used is full of admiration, respect, and love. And I do guarantee you this, ever song will make you smile a little bit, and maybe even brighten your day. I know it does for alot of us. Enjoy!

Great reaction and thanks for giving them another chance. And congrats to your wife she knows what she's doing and she was fast with that thumbnail thing on "Gimme Chocolate". 😁 And I'm sorry because I was not in the mood then and I have relatively little patience. 😊 And you were not wrong. Everyone has their preferences and their particular taste in music. I'm a lifelong metalhead, old-school and I was once in your same position having no idea about choreography dance moves and things like that. Fortunately, my very first BABYMETAL song resonated with me and got me hooked from the first moment. The fact is that no one can judge BABYMETAL by only one or two songs since they are extremely diverse musically and no two songs sounds alike (well, probably two of them, but it was intended and another story). So, rule of thumb about BABYMETAL: always expect the unexpected (and listen to your wife!). 👍‍ Until next time! 🤘🦊

Yes, Su is the main vocalist, Moa also sings but she usually sings the catchiest parts of the songs so that the fans can also sing along with her, she basically takes care of the fanchant but according to BABYMETAL, her position in the band is "Screm and Dance" but yes, she sings and has a beautiful voice indeed (I recommend you react to Headbanger from Legend M version or Moabanger which is the same, Moa takes control of the song and you can appreciate her voice). In this concert BABYMETAL still remained as a duo after Yui left the band in 2018 for health issues, the 3rd girl who is in the video and who does not have a microphone is Momoko, she was still part of the Avengers at that time, a trio of backup dancers who rotated to dance in Yui's place in choreography. In April 2023, it was confirmed that Momoko is the new official 3rd member of BABYMETAL and with that, BM returned to being a 3-member group so of course, she also sings. Fun fact: Su, Moa and Momoko (Yui too) were part of a group called Sakura Gakuin that had BABYMETAL as a sub unit but the band was so famous that it became independent from the group and a couple of years ago Sakura Gakuin disbanded. Anyway thanks for the reaction.

I love Gimme Chocolate but it is a real landmine for many - these girls are really theatre/ a show as much as the music - I mostly watch rather than listen to them. They only get better - and every track feels very different - usually live of course although they have produced a few exceptional videos. Live - they are quite astonishing - I can pretty much guarantee you'll be surprised by the majority of what you hear from them.. I'm glad you had this one to react to - there are still a few the've done that might throw too much of a curve ball at you - but generally (especially the older stuff) all the girls are prominent, as is the band, with great choreography lighting and stage sets.

Nice reaction. Second chances are worth it. Babymetal songs are so diverse that there's always a song by them that you'll find you like. And someday actually play in your car. Warning, some of those songs might get you a ticket or two. Never happened to me. I just saying it could. Yeah, that's it. I know a guy who it happened to. Um yup, that's what happened. LOL. When Su bowed, she was thanking everyone for coming. This was from the 10 years of Babymetal at the Budokan shows. These shows were done near the start of the lockdowns from covid. Many didn't think they would be able to have these shows. They went off without a hitch. Ok there was one. Momoko almost stepped off the stage. Nobody's perfect. They had a lot of regulations in place for these shows. Not sure they could have pulled this off in the US. Here as soon as the music would have started the mayhem would have started. Especially when she motioned for a wall of death at the start of the song. Now the Budokan is a theater in the round and there is no place without seats to do a wall of death. Making it a great place for folks to behave themselves. The Budokan is a place you have to be invited to. You don't book it. Making them doing 10 shows there amazing. And this isn't the first time they performed there. The classic line up of Babymetal. Su, Yui and Moa performed there years ago. Those show are amazing to watch. But they had their problems performing there. Including injuries. They looked forward to the 10 shows hoping to make better memories of the performances. Outside of Momoko almost stepping off the stage. Things went great for them and the fans. They went on a break after these shows that they called sealed. Like sealed away from covid. But even with that they did a surprise release of a music video for the song B*M*C. If you like Mortal Kombat I would definitely suggest checking out that music video. Musically it may not be your thing but it's a lot of fun and for the fans it's been even more fun live. For one of their newer songs Mirror Mirror or Divine Attack might be more up your ally. Babymetal everything you want in music and somethings you didn't know you needed.

Rammstein puts on a pretty theatrical show for a metal band, no choreo though. Babymetal is the first one I've seen really touch it.. aside from synchronized headbanging our the like. I honestly hand't seen this version and was a bit concerned it would be compilation... instead of the classic "Live in Japan" version with Yui-metal. Pleasently surprised this was all one show with the more mature Su-metal voice, and Momoko who is now officially Momometal! Good stuff, thanks for coming back to them for another chance!

When they started the project. one of the ideas was to shake up what was a conservative metal scene. When you think of it, they're the opposite side of the coin of Rammstein. The vibe is different, the theatricality and attitude of too much isn't enough is the same.

Thanks for coming back with more. This is a rather recent performance (2021), but the song itself is still quite old. It's one of their most popular though and I personally love it. This might have been the time Su-metal impaled a stage worker when she threw her flag down from the plateau. Well, perhaps not impaled... but she did strike the person with a nice throw. I'm curious to see what the third song will be. Hopefully Mirror Mirror? If we're strictly talking their latest album, I think you'd like Believing and MAYA too, but they don't have any official video recordings yet. @@musikbyjh Sweet! Tell your wife to make sure it's the music video with footage from their concert, not the older lyric video. BABYMETAL is officially considered a Metal Sing and Dance Unit, so it's like you said, they are more than just the music. I still think they have songs that you, yes even you, could put on in the car. Their latest album is quite different, it's a concept album and in my opinion less tied to the live experience. So the main singer is, well, the main singer. The 2 side girls have a very specific job that makes sense when you know about how concerts work in Japan. Over there, if you're in the audience at a concert, it's considered rude to sing along with the band...everyone at the show is there to hear the band, not you, so the audience generally wouldn't sing along out of politeness. The 2 side girls are like cheerleaders who give the crowd a part of the song that it's OK for the audience to cheer along with. They're the hype team, they act as like an interface between the band and the fans...and with a band that puts so much value on crowd participation, that makes them a very important part of the show.

I'm a 53 year old long-term metalhead, and I know when I first saw Babymetal, I sat with my mouth open and just kept repeating "I don't know what to do with this". It took a while, but now I'm a lot more open to it. In another version of this, they show her (the main singer, Su-metal) call for the Wall of Death without talking, and then they show it happening along with SO many circle pits. It's cool to watch.

So its agreed as a 3 member group Su as the lead and Moa and Yui as backups who also had their own songs together. But unfortunately, Yui had to retire, and since then Moa has just been relegated as a dancer that does backup vocals. They recently added a 3rd member to replace Yui after several years of being a 2 piece. We'll see if they continue only giving Su singing duties or hit going forward.

I wouldn't say you were wrong, just that there was stuff you didn't know. This is always a great next choice when someone doesn't really connect with the more pop-driven music. I noticed your wife picked out Mirror, Mirror for the other song, which I think you might actually put on a playlist. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of the Metal Gods intro would be one you would super enjoy as well. The intro is basically a showcase of the Kami Band, complete with instrumental solos. And Su's vocals on the song proper are 🔥. Her voice is really one of the main reasons this group is even possible. Have an awesome Memorial Day weekend! The other thing, which you somewhat spoke to when you talk about the mix of the metal and the theatric element, was when someone once said he didn't see Babymetal as a band, he saw them as a Metal showcase. Which I think makes a ton of sense as a way to sort of reconcile the way they drift in and out of focus on the metal elements.

So the concept started with Doki Doki Morning as a side-act to Sakura Gakuin. If you go find that original music video, you'll see the origins of "Bubblegum Pop + Metal". Gimme Chocolate was one of the original songs that came out shortly after and started trending in the western world as a novelty song, sort of like "WTF are you doing Japan?", but it was also just fun. This global success in the early days was bigger than the entirety of the Sakura Gakuin thing that spawned Babymetal. They've got to be up there as one of Japans biggest international artists. Hell, they even got a slot in Glastonbury, UK, which is one of the major pop festivals in the world.

I think this is the first time I've seen a reactor reacting to this version of the song, most use the one from 6 or 7 years ago. Both excellent, but quite different. They're usually referred to as Kawaii Metal - Kawaii meaning cute, IIRC - and as you get into them more, you'll realise they actually have a lot of different influences in their songs.

I discovered Babymetal entirely by accident. I watched a live of 'Catch me if you can'. One of the ones where the Kami Band had fun with solos. That Bass. My God, That Bass. Then the song really began, and I was....confused. My first thought was the video was a mashup with some JPop band. Then I saw the crowd getting into it. It took a while before they started to grow on me. Now I own all the albums, and have my tickets to a show on the new tour. I have a soft spot for 'Catch me if you can' and 'Monochrome'. 'Mirror, Mirror' is really growing on me as well. Everything I have heard is that they are a force of nature when playing live. I am looking forward to seeing for myself.

The only "bad" thing about a video from the Budokan 2021 show, is that since it was shot during COVID restrictions, people were forbidden from singing, shouting and screaming, they could only clap! That's why all the crowd noise you heard was actually a backing track, because BM wanted the atmosphere to feel like it usually does during their shows!

Saw them live a month ago when they were on tour with Sabaton and despite having only a limited stage to work with they still put on a great show . Look forward to hopefully watching a few more of your Babymetal reactions - the more you watch the deeper down the rabbit hole you'll be sucked !

In my opinion Gimme Chocolate is a fun and cool song but yeah for sure not a great intro song for a new fan haha. The dichotomy between the metal and cute high pitched vocals is what they were founded on, and is most extreme in Gimme Chocolate. Every single song from them sounds fairly different, as you've now experienced! The crazy thing is, now when I listen to any of their stuff old or new, it all sounds normal to me. That dichotomy is completely gone. I swear Babymetal creates new synapses in your brain 😁🤣🤣🤣❤❤ Also, I was the same in thinking music is just about the audio! Babymetal has really changed the game with their stage presence and productions, and man I had no idea how much I needed choreo in my metal! They have a huge team behind them and there are many moving parts, and they execute so satisfyingly well!

Jeremy, your review was so good on several levels. I'm here to acknowledge your success and give you a boost on Subs. 1. Extremally smart move on acknowledging your wife! 2. This is a much better song all around the Gimmie Chocolate. However there is a better live vid out there than this one. buts this ok. I do not like metal, never have, probably never will...However Baby Metal is a different animal and as mentioned. 2. Yes its a event that must be viewed in person, however a large screen tv and speakers doesn't suck. 3. "You must check out "Head Banger" live ...I have never seen anything like it ..Baby Metal interaction with the crowed really comes across.3. The band is enormously talented and if you put them in a classic metal setting they would slay!. 4. Your smart move to continue to review them they have a large fan base. 5. The lead singers is Su Metal and yes sings lead on all of the songs, she is a Metal Goddess, I never seen anyone so fierce as her. Lastly for your wife...since she's in charge obviously of the ch. The is a band from Mexico "The Warning" three sisters...I am leaving a link ...They are on tour right now in Europe opening for Muse. Put them up soon and you will double your Subs in less than a month: Plus they have an amazing back story that will make you love them even more: The song is Disciple from concert last August.. video.search.yahoo.com/search/video;_ylt=AwrEno55b3JksD4lXT5XNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzEEdnRpZANDQVEyNTUyM0FfMQRzZWMDc2M-?p=diciple+live+teatro&type=E210US885G91730&ei=UTF-8&fr=mcafee&turl=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOVP.dZJ0c-Ufp2oHWwr7kUZ34gHgFo%26pid%3DApi%26w%3D296%26h%3D156%26c%3D7%26p%3D0&rurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWo0odllVq8g&tit=The+Warning+-+DISCIPLE+Live+at+Teatro+Metropolitan+CDMX+08%2F29%2F2022&pos=1&vid=9657296b58d2b567b61d62d0954a0b1b&sigr=41oKO6rMDTBP&sigt=xzPgXjS8SGSy&sigi=oWiVGsTlOBJf

Glad you gave this one a chance. Yeah, '...Chocolate' is an early song and still pretty childish. As you get to know the band it does become more palatable - especially recent performances. The young woman in the centre, Su-metal, is the lead singer. At the time of this video, only the member on our right of the screen, Moametal, had a headset mic. The other member was actually a dancer, one of a rotating team of dancers known as 'The Avengers'. At each show, one Avenger would take the place opposite Moa and dance/mime to the songs. This was to balance the act's dynamic, with the Avenger acting as a kind of stand-in for Yuimetal, the former third member who sadly left due to poor health. One of the Avengers, Momoko, has, in 2023, become a full band member and she sings like Moa as well as dancing. She has been given the name Momometal. The masks on the band are a bit of a sore point with many fans. Previously, the Kami Band, who are amazing musicians, were not masked and were given fairly visible and prominent positions. More recently, Koba, the guy who runs it all, decided that he wanted more attention on the three core singing/dancing members, so he hid the instrumentalists away in the shadows with masks. Some of us are more than a little pissed about it.

I don't like the decision to mask them either, but aren't the masks because of the addition of the Western Kamis? They only did it after they added them during the Metal Galaxy era. I guess your point also makes sense considering their recent stage setups have increasingly hidden the band.

Thank you for giving BM another chance, and huge thanks to your wife for supporting you behind the scenes! It would have been fine if you still thought it was not for you - everyone has different taste - but I'm glad that didn't happen. Theatrical is the keyword - weirdly, of the groups you've seen and enjoyed on this channel, you could argue they are most like VoicePlay! I realised when I saw them live in April that all three bands there were theatrical in different ways, beyond the music itself. Lordi were creating characters, mainly through costume but also in how they interacted with the audience. Babymetal were all about movement - the dancing isn't just like a standard music video, it is actively telling the story and setting the mood. I'm not particularly a fan of _Gimme_ _Chocolate!!_ (though it's a fun enough novelty song), but even back then you can see how the choreography is more than just pretty moves. And Sabaton were all about the story, even going so far as to have people come on stage to act out the events they were singing about. I can't remember if you know Sabaton? If you do them on the channel, you will find that fans will clamour for you to do animated story videos for most of their songs, because it is real history and the story matters. If you had told me ten years ago that a power metal band performing songs about war would be the group that made me cry most often, I would have laughed. Let us know if you would like suggestions for yet another rabbithole...

Hey Jeremy (still sounds weird), nice reaction. Still nice smile the whole time you watched, but you obvciously enjoyed it more. I don't know if you're going to do more Babymetal after your Japanese week, but since you played in a prog band, I figured you enjoy prog metal. Assuming that is true, then there IS one other song you should really check out of theirs called Tales of Destinies. Pretty sure you'll like that as well. It is a tribute to Dream theater. As such you'll hear a lot of Dream Theater influence in that song. It's a pretty cool song and I think you'll probably enjoy it if you like Dream Theater.

Did they not use the first live version due to restrictions? Rord of Resistance is a song that follows the position BABYMETAL was in at the time. It was around this time that Japanese girls decided to go global with heavy metal, a rock-hard genre. That's why it was "Resistance". "I'll do it with a warm feeling in my heart!" It was the lyrics of such content. Love Bites, Nemophila, Band Maid. All bands are great. However, BABYMETAL paved the way for themselves.

I appreciate you continuing your journey with the band. Babymetal fans (Myself included) can be a little touchy when it comes to criticism of the band. That's due almost entirely due to the constant shit babymetal gets from both elitists and certain other bands. For instance, fred durst of Limp bizkit went on after babymetal around 2014 and his first comment to the entire crowd was that seeing babymetal made him horny. At the next performance he said that the bands performance was "sexy"... Now if he said that after an all girl group it would normally just be disrespectful, but the extra layer of the youngest member of BM being only like 14 at that point, with the oldest (Su-Metal) being 17... was extra fucked up. And this isn't an isolated thing. they get harassed, shit on, and disrespected at every turn and only within the last couple years have they gained some level of respect outside of japan. So if ya see some Babymetal fans getting spicy in the comments it's because the fanbase gets pretty protective due to the girls and their agency constantly taking the high-road/diplomatic approach when they're disrespected. Anyways, I really do appreciate you continuing to cover them after your dislike of gimmie chocolate lol. It's imo, a bad decision to have people unfamiliar with babymetal start with that song. It's a fun song but it gives the impression that thats all they do. Much love!

BABYMETAL 101 Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Kei “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency. Babymetal name comes from the birth of a new style of metal fusing j-pop with metal creating what they call Kawaii Metal (Cute-Metal). The group currently consists of Suzuka Nakamoto aka “Su-Metal” (25 years old) sometimes referred to as Vocal and Dance. Moa Kikuchi aka "Moametal", pronounced as Moa-Metal (23 years old) as part of Scream and Dance. Momoko Okazaki aka Momometal (20 years old) as part of Scream and Dance . They are supported by a rotating selection of talented male backing musicians known as the Kami Band (Kami is usually poorly translated as gods, but in truth it more closely means awe inspiring spirit, entity, or object) It is why they are dressed in white to look like ghosts or spirits, though Kami being used as God(s) is so common in translation the white outfits get lost. Past Formations. Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012) From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal. (Age 10). First starting out as the Heavy Music Club as a subunit within the Developmental Idol Group created by Amuse in 2010 known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin is a group that introduces girls between the ages of 10-15 to music, dance, modeling, and acting through Japanese Pop idol music and culture. Given a school theme, all three would be a part of Sakura Gakuin until their graduation from it in the same school year they would graduate from Japanese middle school or 15 years old. Suzuka graduated in March 2013, and Moa and Yui in March of 2015. Sakura Gakuin is a fantastic group with great kawaii jpop songs in their own right. During this time there was no lore, and the girl’s costumes were more punkish in nature which they helped create. They also didn’t perform with live music, using a backing track or the “Skeleton band” people pretending to play music behind them. Music Video of this Era Doki Doki Morning (Debut Song) Iine (Pronounced EE-N A spelled i i n e) Headbangya Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017) Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time. The Lore is complex and involves a battle against other evil idol corporations, gaining powers, some time travel, running a resistance group, all at the direction of a mythical deity known as the fox god, against an all power enemy known as Akiba. The first Legend show I was the Kami Bands introduction to the end, but it also had the Skeleton Band which is seen in the wildly popular Gimmie Chocolate Music Video. This was followed by Legend D, and then Legend Z, in which it was learned that Babymetal would continue as its own entity after Suzuka’s graduation from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Slowly over 2013 the Skeleton Band would be phased out of all live shows, as Babymetal came into their own. Babymetal as it is most commonly known as with Su-Metal, Moametal, Yuimetal, the Kami Band, and a somewhat understandable lore is what consisted for the majority of it’s existence. Also established beyond the 3 member formation, they had 2 other set ups, one was what fans called Su-Solos, and it would just be Su on stage with the Kami band, performing a solo, and the other is known as Black Babymetal by the band themselves, which consisted of just Moa and Yui. Music Videos of this Era Gimmie Chocolate Megitsune Rondo of Nightmare - With mischief of the Gods Intro (Su Solo and a great expedition of the Kami Band) Road of Resistance Live in Japan (Co-written by Dragonforce) Iijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere (Name means No More Bullying Forever) Karate The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era (2018) In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui. Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child. In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. (Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand) In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history. Music Videos of this Era (These MVs do not feature the members in them at all) Distortion Starlight (Don’t let overzealous fans fool you, this is OFFICIALLY not a tribute to anyone. A lot of fan speculation, end of story if they claim it is they are 100% lying to you.) Metal Galaxy Era (2019- Feb 2020) The current set up was first introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH. Music Videos of this Era Pa Pa Ya Elevator Girl Shanti Shanti Da Da Dance (Avenger confusion) Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal. For the Music Videos, Pa Pa Ya, Elevator Girl, and Shanti Shanti Shanti, it is Kano Fujihira, who was just 14 years old at the time. Da Da Dance is a compilation of Momoko and Riho and a splicing of 2 different shows. In most fan cam videos of the American and European tour it would be either Riho or Momoko, as they toured with Babymetal in 2019. Kano had responsibilities with Sakura Gakuin as its president, a position Suzuka and Moa both held in Sakura Gakuin, and she’s never flown on a plane before. Some fans for 2019 did throw a stupid temper tantrum over the use of new Kami Band members who are from the west now known as the West Coast Kami Band, but like how the girls won over many, so did they and the payoff with the Legend Metal Galaxy concert in 2020 was well worth it.

COVID Era (Mar 2020 to April 2021) COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. Forced to keep it rather tame something very unlike Babymetal as even in their failures like the entire 2018 tour they do it septically. The question for many fans is what of the Avengers, since COVID, Avenger Riho Sayashi has signed with a new agency and has move on to other projects, including starting a fan club, which appears to rule her out of ever being an Avenger again. Kano Fujihara graduated from Sakura Gakuin on August 30, 2020, a near 4-month delay. However, she and fellow Sakura Gakuin graduates Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori in the formation of @onefive. Which leaves Momoko Okazaki as the last standing Avenger with no new commitments. However, Kano was technically in Sakura Gakuin, @onefive, and Babymetal all at the same time for almost a year so it is possible she will still be an Avenger. All shows since COVID pandemic they have done in 2020 and in 2021 have had Momoko as the Avenger. Music Videos of this Era BxMxC (First music video that isn’t footage from a show and featuring Su and Moa since Karate in 2015) Post 10-year Anniversary/ Covid Era Part 2 (May 2021-September 2022) The band is stepping back from live shows due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and focusing on the sale of Merch. Don't let stupid fans fool you the band is not on hiatus or ending. They are idiots and deserves to be made fun of as they’ve been working on new material. Momoko had a very very short stint in a Korean Idol Competition Show called Planet 99. She performed perfectly, better than most of the other girls in the show. She even got the most votes in a small side competition destroying all other 98 girls in the show in votes. This won her some hair dye (She was blonde for a bit). Ultimately be it dumb BM fans thinking the side competition was the actual competition, how the judging was heavily skewed to Korean voters, the fact that her fate was tied to 2 other girls one Korean and one Chinese, and or possibly ridged voting something the company producing the show has done in the past, Momoko was eliminated in the very first round. The Other One (October 2022-Current) They have released 5 songs on KZfaq, they performed a show in January 2023 where they performed these new songs leading up to the released of their Album in March with 10 new songs. During January and February shows Su and Moa were supported by Momoko. On April First (Fox Day) Their new show played many new and old songs as well as officially made Momoko Okazaki aka Momometal the official 3rd member. Bringing Babymetal back to a 3-member unit once again. This all kicks off their world tour in touring with Sabaton in Europe then Asia and Australia, and tours in US in the fall and a solo tour in Europe in winter, with a tour finally in Japan in 2024. Metal has always been "theatre", but maybe not dance. Think Kiss, Alice Cooper, Slipknot etc. Metal has always had a part of it that is "theatre". Yes, most bands have probably been no-nonse "Let's play the music", but metal has always had a performance part to it.

You say pixelated. Keep an eye on a number of YT vids. I think they are doing something with their compression algorithm perhaps to improve bandwidth. The quality for me over the last few weeks/month has been notably shit. Secondly, wow, a new Road to Resistance. The older video was a classic.

If this version impressed you then you'd be double impressed by another live version of Babymetal when Su was just 16. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLp1jLh3zLLalY0.html

Babymetal is my favorite band of all time. This kind of metal is up my alley. I'm in love with the girls. They can get away with murder as far as I'm concerned by butchering all available genres... 😊

Gimme chocolate didn't even have the real band with them, if their dresses as skeletons that's a filler band. The original kami band is dressed as ghost, and like in this video this is the western kami band (white dudes shredding)

hmm...strange video. not the live in japan version...how odd. naa, this video isn't really showing the power of this song overall...off camera check out the RoR live in japan cut...see what they can do with a huge crowd...its...insane. Surely someone suggested Rondo of Nightmare with the mischiefs of metal gods, right? Anyhow...yeah, shift your mind...performance is to perform...if you go to a concert just to listen to music, stay home and listen to a CD. Consider this though...Metal used to be huge performances...iron maiden and stuff. the 90s just come worship me mindset killed that, but it'll come back.
