Great reaction! This is by far one of my favorite songs and performances from Babymetal. The meaning of walking the uncharted road, no matter the resistance, to achieve your dreams not only resonates with the audience, but in fact, is Babymetal’s own path fighting against the grain of “popular opinion” and nay-sayers to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned within heavy metal. Furthermore, it still amazes me that they have such stamina to deliver vocals and choreography on this level. Many don’t realize, this was the closer to a 16-song, 90+ minute show where Babymetal goes hard the entire time. Pulling that off in-front of 20K sold out fans when they were 17/15 is just incredible. Much respect 🫡. Also, easy ways to recognize Yuimetal and Moametal: Yui has chubby cheeks, and is the most “baby-face” of the 3. Moa has easily spottable dimples. Also, if they have gloves, Moa has them on the left hand, Yui’s was on the right hand. Next suggestion: *Pa Pa Ya!!* I mean, ultra cute, ultra heavy, papayas, festivals, F.Hero rapping in Thai, what else can you ask for?! 🤣 🤘🦊

Great reaction. You got it - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. At the end they were shouting "We are ... BABYMETAL!" they always end their shows with this and they mean all of us ... we are ALL Babymetal - the girls, the Kami Band, the stage designers, the sound and lighting engineers, the choreographer, Kobametal the producer and (in their eyes perhaps most important of all) the audience, the fans. Everybody involved is Team BABYMETAL and part of the family.

"Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthem and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians whom were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. Just occured to me I have not given you my wall of (un)important information like the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information. BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin. They are: Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls. Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot! Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch. BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows. AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021. They were: Momoko Okazaki (see above). Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist. Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Thanks for the great react video to a favorite performance! This was during their early years where they had yet to achieve global popularity, win awards for their music, and the like. They were new to many international listeners and some were very derogatory, claiming they were a gimic band, were manufactured by the Japanese idol industry - about 2/3 of the way in to this performance Su-Metal yells "Bring them on" in Japanese, likely an emotional response to their detractors. I love this performance for that moment as much as the rest being near perfection. Look forward to seeing more! There are so many excellent songs and performances, so fun watching along to new viewers.

If you're trying to remember who is who, Moa is usually on the right side of Su when you're watching them, and Yui is on the left. Road of Resistance is pure speed/power metal. The guitar parts were written by Herman Li and Sam Totman of the band Dragonforce, who are well known for very fast and intense guitar playing. RoR is usually the finale of their live shows, so they always send the crowd home on a high. When the people in the crowd all run towards each other and collide, that's called a "wall of death", and when they all run around in a circle, that's a "circle pit". At the end, Su-metal was shouting "We are!", and Yui, Moa, and the crowd were shouting "Babymetal!", so all together, they are saying "We are Babymetal!". This is their way of saying that the fans in the crowd are part of Babymetal and showing appreciation for the fans for coming to the show and taking part in the performance.

Found this band through my daughter two years ago, and been a fan ever since. I'm really happy to see new fans reacting to them the way I did when I first saw them. You are going to get a lot of recommendations from The One that are going to be their more popular videos, but I wanted to suggest some of my personal favorites which don't get mentioned as often. If you would like to get a better performance of SuMetal's vocal talent, I would recommend From Dusk Till Dawn. Her range in that song is mind blowing. Gave me chills. There is also the Trilogy of Lights, which is a three song performance that includes Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia. And of course there is their First Take performance of Monochrome. SuMetal's vocals in that one brought tears to my eyes. You will get to hear her voice clear with only a piano accompaniment and back up vocals performed by MoaMetal. Until recently, I had a biased opinion of Babymetal, thinking they were a joke band. This song changed my opinion. Babymetal is real, high-octane metal, 100% metal (like tungsten carbide). If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to request that old fans recommend some similar songs from their library. I neglected to mention: the reaction is spectacular.
