Welcome back, great reaction.🦊I will start by saying if you heard Su-metal's voice in an anime it will have been Zettai Karen Children from about 2009 when she was 11. She was in the group Karen Girl's who did the songs for that one. Otherwise - no. BABYMETAL haven't done any anime other than they did the theme for the western cartoon Unikitty. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su-metal (lead vocalist) was 17, Yuimetal (the original third member - she left in 2018, Momo became the new third member in April last year) and Moametal only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits).🤘 This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way (ie the path of least resistance) or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy road to follow. You mentioned DragonForce - Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London later in 2015. This was the Kami Band (BABYMETAL's backing band for all live shows) playing live, each one of them is a world class musician. In this concert the Kami Band were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars (Takayoshi has the glitter pink guitar) with BOH on his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. when they were young there was a real synergy where everyone felt like they were in on the gag. teen girls doing metal was silly, but the crowds fully embraced the silly, and the harder they cheered, the harder the band went, and the harder the band went the harder the crowds cheered. so much amplified positivity. The Wall of Death happens at EVERY concert where "Road of Resistance" is performed!🤣 Nowadays Su-Metal does the "Split!" thing just in case, but the WoD is ready before the song even starts. The contrast between what they did with Electric Callboy and this song should tell you everything you need to know about this band. I've been following them since 2014. It's become an addiction. And here's why. Every Babymetal song is different. They are a fusion metal band. Meaning, they mix every genre of music you can think of. It's unique enough on it's own as a fusion of metal and pop, but they go way beyond that. Road of Resistance is straight up Power Metal. But they do so much more. Indian? Try Shanti Shanti Shanti. Celtic? Oh Majinai Latin? Night Night Burn Arabian? Metalizm Rap? BxMxC Thrash? Gimme Chocolate Prog? Tales of the Destinies Ska? Yava Emotional powerhouse? Monochrome (including the piano version) AND a song inspired by Electric Callboy back when the girls were first starting out, called iine. You should check that one out. Definitely a great one to start with! Im 47, got into them late 2022, and last year my wife and I got to see them back to back in Houston and Dallas and yeah, the best shows ever! It blew my mind how good their stage presence and confidence was back then, but at these shows we went to, their presence is a force you can feel, its wild! Also we got VERY close to the stage in Dallas,we were maybe 10 feet from them and the amount of cute fun personal crowd interaction they did was awesome! Seeing the dancing and how relentlessly energetic yet in sync they are in person is also wild, and of course Su was great when she was young but she's legit superstar singer status! I only knew a few Electric Callboy songs and already enjoyed them, man i REALLY am hoping for a duo headliner tour with both of them haha!

This concert was at Super Saitama Arena in Tokyo, the same venue that FOX_FEST was held at. The capacity for concerts is around 20,000, and this show (Legend 2015 - The New Year Fox Festival) was a full house. If this song sounds familiar, it's because the guitars for it were written by Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce wrote the guitar parts and played on the studio recording. Although people often make the comparison, Babymetal has never done any anime songs. They are very selective about what projects they involve themselves with. Oddly enough, Babymetal aren't as well known in their homeland as you would think. Metal music isn't very popular in Japan, so they exist in kind of a niche where they are very popular with people who know about them, but a lot of people don't because they aren't part of the pop mainstream. Babymetal are such good dancers because they have all been doing it since they were about six years old. At the time of this performance, Su-metal was 17, and Yuimetal and Moametal were 15, and they had been Babymetal for over four years by this point.

BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since, headlining with BABYMETAL. Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama. Babymetal is plenty popular in Japan but really they are much more popular internationally than other Japanese bands. Rock is huge in Japan but Metal isn't.

I must apologize but I take issue with you comparing BABYMETAL to anime music: BABYMETAL is not anime - never has been and, with any luck, never will be. Evidently, many people jump to anime simply because they are singing in Japanese, and anime is the only place they’ve ever heard Japanese singing. Welcome to Babymetal my friend. This was an awesome reaction. For fans one of life's great little pleasures is seeing someone like yourself really getting Babymetal for the first time. Kudos to you. I believe the girls here were Su 17, Moa and Yui 15 each. Backed by the incredible original Kami Band. The girls now ladies have always held an almost magical sway over their audiences. It is one of the things that has made them so beloved. You really seem to get Babymetal-not a blessing everybody has oddly. As such I would love to share your journey into the Foxhole. I'd like to recommend a performance from last year. You've seen them young, you've seen them with EC. I'd love to see you experience them shining as they do now. You got the names wrong. Sort of. Su and Moa are correct. They are original members and have been with BM since it started in 2010. Yui is the 3rd original member and appears in this video. She's usually on the left (Su's right) as we see the video. Yui had to to leave the band in 2018 due to illness. Momo has been performing with BM as a dancer only for several years and was made an official member a little over a year ago. Your video is literally unwatchable. Using that non opaque overlay is ridiculous and unnecessary. You can't see or hear the BM video at all. Great editing. Not. All we see is your hairy arms. Doing this does NOTHING to stop a copyright strike kid. Duh. Epic fail.
