When people say BABYMETAL is not metal or that they have annoying vocals and childish songs I show them this. This is pure metal right here! mature, deep and powerful

Great reaction - I think this is one that should be OK regardless of whether you pause it or not ... but there is no discernible logic with what may or may not be blocked. The Kami Band here were Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (6 string bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums) and this was 'The Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' instrumental intro. They have some songs where they get some well deserved time in the spotlight. Kami Band means God Band, they wear corpse face paint and traditional burial robes as they are the Gods of guitar bass and drums summoned to support Babymetal in the metal resistance (there is a lot of lore behind Babymetal like an ongoing storyline). This was at The Budokan, a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics and a very prestigious music venue where you only play if you are invited. Babymetal were the youngest female band ever to headline there, Su was 16, their average age just under 15. Su's vocals are haunting and even when you don't understand a word she is saying she can still express the emotion of a song - in this instance she is in a nightmare she can't escape, being chased through the dark by something but she doesn't know what. At the quiet part where she hung her head she is hiding in a fountain in the darkness and accepting she will die, so she is asking whatever is chasing her won't it at least show it's form before she dies.

Suzuka is a once in a lifetime phenomenon. When I went to my first Babymetal concert I was blown away by the colourful theatrics, the talented musicians and flawless dancing of the two princesses. But in the middle of that was this elegant little LADY that stole my heart the moment I saw her. Couldn't take my eyes off her,with a lump in my throat. Saw that you felt something similar in this reaction. Thank you for making me relive that moment.

You know...with Su, it's not just the voice, it's that just amazing stage presence..you can't look away when she's performing...POWER!!...You described it perfectly right there...It's the Babymetal Effect!!!...

I would say it's not so much sadness that you are feeling but desperation. The song is about a person being trapped in a nightmare, finally giving in to a mysterious presence coming towards them. It's probably the darkest BABYMETAL song, but I love it for how well it manages to create this hauting atmosphere. As you said, it really draws you in like you were there, you feel that there's something sinister going on. And as usual, Su's performance is incredible. She really shines in all of her solo songs.

BABYMETAL is only one, BABYMETAL is no one else, BABYMETAL is a genre called BABYMETAL. And SU-METAL is queen.

Rondo of Nightmare is a song about a girl trying to escape from... something. We don't really know what it is, and part of the song is that we never really find out. When Su puts her head down and sings softly she's pleading with, whatever it is, to at least show itself before she perishes. As with all nightmares it never gets resolved. Su has two solos on each of the first two albums, while Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) have two duets on each of the first two albums. They do this so that during performances they can each give the other a break. The intro here showcases the absolute metal masters of the Kami Band. A kami is like a god or a spirit of something, so the Kamis represent the gods or spirits of their respective instruments as summoned by the God of Metal Music: the Fox God. I think a better translation for the intro is "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods". There are a pool of Kamis and they rotate in and out depending on availability because they all have their own bands and projects but in this performance in order of solos: Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums). The Kami Band backs BABYMETAL during all their live shows and have been since 2013. They made some appearances before then but since Su's 16th birthday show (Legend 1997) they have always been there. Their costumes were pretty much the white robes and face paint up until 2018, which brought the "dark side" lore and new black robes. In 2019 they changed again and also included masks, which a lot of the fans were not happy about.

How the hell do you follow a intro like that ? You send in Queen Su for a master class in how to perform a song and mesmorize you . Still only 16 in this performance. Surrgest "Ijime Dame Zettai" at Sonisphere in UK. It is anti bulling song roughly means "Bulling no more Forever" . Its a festival performance so should be no copyright problem and is significant part of BabyMetal lore . There first festival outside Asia and they where originally booked for smaller stage . There was a bit of interest shown so couple of months before the appearance they decided to put them on main stage early in the day. ( say that because story going round it was just before going on but it was in metal magazines in May ) So maybe 3000 or more because most metalheads would be still hungover in tents asleep. They got it wrong about 50.000 to 60.000 where up early getting good spots to see there favourite bands later in day . Where confronted by 3 little Japanese girls most had no clue who they where ,this crowd where know for throughing bottles of urine at bands that displeased them . You have no idea how much they can still surprise you. You've opened the Pandora's Box. When people (me included) just see Gimme Chocolate or Karate then stop looking at them, they're making a HUGE mistake. Now you've seen Rondo of Nightmare and RoR. Those are just TWO songs. Two performances. There's a thousand of them. And they're all mesmerizing. You're starting to understand why they won the Best Live Act awards multiple times :). People just stop at the couple listens on the couple music videos and they wonder about their live performances, the musicians. You just had the proof with this video that they do not neglect their musicians. Eventough, let's not forget, the musicians are only hired session musicians, but they get their time to shine. I love the concept of the band. The musiciands are amongst the best I've heard lately, specially the bass player. I get that being "Baby Metal", the vocalist would have the traditional nasal high pitched voice so popular in pop or tradicional Japanese music. But it IS the vocals that kill it all to me. It's like having Nightwish musicians playing and instead of Floor, Britney Spears is in the vocals.

This is a long way from the Gimme Chocolate reaction. A lot of people have this experience, not so into it at first because of the shock factor but as they continue to listen and expand, they come to love Babymetal.

Looking back at other reactors and reactions to BabyMetal, I cannot see a pattern to what stays up and what gets removed...maybe they use some search algorithm that picks out specific words or phrases......I mean, there are reaction videos up from months and months ago with huge amounts of likes etc, then there are ones that get taken down within days. Seems no logic in it. Surely you reacting to a video brings more people into watching that band that may not of heard of them before (much like you when you started with Gimme Chocolate). I will never reach the heady heights of followers that you have, so that will never be a problem for me so I cant give any advice lol. What I will say though, check out BxMxC now, I think you are ready for it. BxMxC is one of 2 tracks that Japan got, that the rest of the world didnt, on the Metal Galaxy album. Well, pausing don't prevent the video from being blocked. This one is for example safe to react to. It's not ruined your reaction, it was just weird cause it seemed uncomfortable for you... Some songs get blocked everytime, some songs have more versions (safe and not safe), and a few songs are safe in every case. It’s such a double edged sword when awesome vocalists happen to be in the same band as amazing musicians. Vocalists tend to get the attention over the musicians and they don’t get the credit they’re due. There are some rare exceptions but they really do stand out in the highest of echelons regardless. Think of all of the world class musicians that play for Dimash 😂😂😂.
