Chiquita was teaching her a THAI word. Rora is not Thai, she's Korean and also, YG gave her the name AURORA , RORA for short. So when you say her name it's with R not L. Same for RUKA, who's name come from Japanese language, cause you know, she's japanese. ANYWAY, it's PA-RI-TA/RORA/RUKA, not FARITA/LOLA/LUKA.

In Japanese, R is pronounced like a combination of R and D. Thai to a lesser extent. (Fluent Japanese speaker here)

It's neither lol it's like in between an R and an L Edit: I was going off korean pronunciation originally but if you read the thread it can be pronounced as an R as well but never an L sound

True. The way Korean's pronounce "r" is so different, cuz when they say "ramen", it's pronounced with an "L" and sounds like "lamyeon". I was confused when my friend wanted ramen and she said it that way.

I 100% agree with what you said about building a team with ppl who are dedicated and dependable.. I think that is what makes YG girls groups stan out, from the start you can see how much the want it. Yg doesn’t just debut anyone he wants ppl who will stay.. that is why I’m not worried about BP splitting or any members of BabyMonster leaving

She Just Forgot the LYRICS People. It doesn't mean She Can't Sing. Hehe. RORA is in Fact a Natural. She already Got a Beautiful Tone From the Beginning that what YG Saw so didn't matter if during the FIRST ASSESSMENT, she forgot the Words. Coupled it with Good Work Ethics. I am so Happy Hearing RORA. I've been longing for a Strong Vicalist with A natural Feel in Music and She is that.

Good worth ethic us very important for YG to see through the mistakes. If a trainee continues making mistakes or forgets lines then they need to work on possible stage fright etc. Just like with WINNER's Jinwoo. After that... it's either get better or leave.

You’re right to a certain extent that it could sound like Lola in Hangul. But as YG himself said, Rora is based off of an English word aurora so it is Rora and not Lola. It’s like saying Rap Monster should be pronounced like Lap Monster. Doesn’t make much sense. Btw, Rora’s real name is Da In.

That’s her routine to get to YG pre debut and that’s why they are showing it. Obviously when they debut things will change and she most likely will join the other girls and live in the dorms. Traveling to the training company is not new. TAEYANG’s wife Min HioRin Aldo had to travel far distance to JYP during her trainee days.

I guess it is pronounce as middle of R and L so it is not pronounce as RORA or LOLA either. For koreans they don't have the R and L sound always on the middle sound. Try it and say L and R at the same time. But as YG said he gave her name RORA short for AURORA so we foreigners may call her RORA.

It's actually pronounce very easy and simple. With the sound of R, not L. Of course in thai R pronounce as L in their languages, but not the name, Rora and Ruka are not Thai too, so forget the L sound. I don't know who told you to pronounce their name like an L sound with it. But it's ok. Cause in that video YG said it himself that he give Lee Dain that RORA name short form for AURORA coz he can see her bright with talent like Aurora. I hope you don't miss that. Even Lee Jung pronounce her name with R sound many time in that video, YHS as well. How come you miss that.🤭

It's a choice. YG provides dorms 15-20 min away. The famous YG housing ☺ Some trainees prefer to stay home. Like yedam did during his training. When last year befor debute begins they all enter dorms to harden the team bond. It's also easy for staff to pick them up for shoots, mc set, training etc.

A Korean R/L is a mixture of both sounds and is not like either and English L nor R. L is pronounced in English with the tip of the tongue against the back of the teethn. In Korean you pronounce the sound by pressing the part of the tongue just behind the tip to the roof of the mouth and say a soft R. It comes out as a combination of the R/L sound.

Chiquita is Thai, they dont pronounce stuff exactly the same, and its Rora with R especially because it comes from aurora, it would be with L only if her name actually started with L like Lisa (even when she introduces herself in korean theres a slight R sound), and in korean alphabet is neither L nor R because theres no L and R, it just sounds between the two, but Lola is wrong lol
