From many other KZfaq videos, we know the boy soprano was Elias Mädler. I don't have the faintest idea who the bass was.

get the feeling of a wedding cantata seems a bit more secular?

Bach regularly used secular music forms in his cantatas. He also regularly recycled music from secular cantatas into his religious one as well. The last aria is a jig after all! The soprano aria ends with a nice piece of chamber music. He uses minuets, gavottes, sarabandes, bourees etc in many of his cantatas. As is also typical of many Bach cantatas, he mixed things up by finishing of with a brilliant fugue of the type that only the great master could pull off.

Although everything AML2000 says is correct, your impression has probably still another reason: The fashion to give Bach's wonderful and extremely complex (polyphone) music MUCH too fast. (Or - in the first movement - in a much walz-like way.) This is indeed not supposed to be a country-dance, much less a steeple-chase (like one might think in the bass aria)... Annoys me greatly, the artists are hurrying through the beautiful but difficult parts ... it's really disrespectful towards Bach AND the artists! - AND the music-loving listeners, by the way!

It would be nice if the sound and the video were synchronised. They are not, and it's annoying.

JSBach non e' che volesse che un bambino cantasse, non poteva impedirlo il che e' molto diverso Le sue cantate sacre non sono la sinfonia 4 di Gustav Mahler Quindi nel 2020 la parte del soprano deve essere una donna, adulta

Marco. Ni en 2020 ni en ningún otro año. Bach compuso pensando en la música, sí, pero sabiendo lo que tenía para cantar: componía para niños (muy preparados musicalmente y vocalmente). Compuso pensando en sus características vocales, emocionales, físicas, psiquicas. Compuso para lo que tenía disponible, aún a pesar de las deficiencias que pudiera haber. En aquel entonces, la mujer no cantaba en la iglesia. Respetemos a Bach en su concepción musical. Otra cosa es encontrar niños preparados para hacer lo que hacía los niños de Bach. La mujer "canta" de otra manera y con otra concepción de la música de Bach.
