I never got married but I seen this tip before, create a wedding email so you can keep everything organized! Idk it’s so simple but good so everything is kept under one email and you know where to look for certain things.

I’m so happy for you! I say get a rough draft of guest lists for both of you because that’s the main question venues ask when you try to tour, invite anyone you want because if it’s a big amount you’ll get some no’s which will make it more intimate and nice and if it’s a lot then you’ll get more help from your registry or $$, so guest list rough draft, venue tours and engagement part next if you’re doing that and then all of the fun stuff like little details, bridal shower and bachelorette party and maybe a beach in the cape ?

Congratulations on your engagement! We are planning ours and our wedding planner suggested to have an intimate wedding ceremony with close friends and family and then the reception is when you invite everyone else. It's a great way to get the best of both worlds!

i feel like definitely pick a date/general time and consider a couple venues and see if they have that date available! I also planned a wedding that was just about exactly a year out from when I got engaged. I then started looking for a dress bc those take a while to come in and did engagement pictures and save the dates! The knot give a good general timeline of things to consider but I didn’t follow it exactly

Definitely pick the venue and date ASAP! i know this is a year out but you should absolutely have a day of coordinator!! a wedding planner is amazing but you need someone there on the day of your wedding to keep things organized!

I just saw one of the most beautiful weddings. She lives in England, but I think you can get a lot of ideas from her. She gets into everything, from ordering her wedding dress to flowers, food, outdoor tent (although she doesn't call it a tent) and everything in-between. Her name is Josie, but her vlog is Fashion Mumblr. I hope you can get some ideas of where to start.

I had a small intimate ceremony and a bigger reception. Some family were mad that they were not invited to the ceremony. I definitely recommend do not have an open bar because that will be very expensive and you get the bill at the end. I had greek food catered it was fine sitting out, good for vegetarian and people with nut allergies. We had a lot of leftovers (sad didn't take any home), and family was able to donate the leftovers to a shelter. I recommend eating top tier of cake right away; I think it would be gross a year later. I hope you have a great week!

the Biltmore in North Carolina is a really beautiful venue - they have a really cute outdoor garden area that could give the backyard vibe but still let you have a bigger guest list

I saw a tiK Tok where a bride talked about making a joint email address with her fiancé to keep all wedding related things (like emails from venues, vendors, ect..) in one place so things will never get lost :) also If you were planning on planning your wedding without a wedding planner I saw another KZfaqr buy a wedding planner book that helped her plan her wedding!

when I got married it was really important to have a rough estimate of guests because venues have capacity and minimums and stuff like that. obviously you dont need a set list a year out, but having a number to tell venues so they know whether they can even hold your event is helpful. You dont want to book a venue for them to tell you to cut 20 people

My biggest advice would be not to do the huge wedding and so the smaller more intimate chill idea. If I could go back in time I never would have done the big reception honestly. I had to go on zoloft while wedding planning bc the stress was so bad. And all my friends regretted it as well bc of the stress that came with it

Emma at this point why don't you just go and hire you a wedding planner it would be so much easier because then you can sit down and talk to a professional and they will help you plan it all you got to do is tell them what you want how you want it to be and what you're looking for and they will do the rest that way it would take the stress off of you two trying to do everything yourself

If you have the budget, hire a planner. Otherwise, a good place to begin is with a color palette and mood board so you have a 1,000 foot view of the vibe. Guest list will determine your venue size. Securing the venue quickly is IMPORTANT. As far as caterers, entertainment, etc., a wedding planner will have the most connections and could potentially provide discounts and other perks. I'm so excited for you, Emma! One important tip: at the reception, you and Payton should get together and take a moment to take in the moment, look at your party and guests and be grateful because the day will zoom by so fast and will be a blur. Take the time to be present during your day. OMG that was so long, sorry. Love you!
